    General Comment:Also, to further prove my point, if you look at Tyler Chrisite's comment you will see exactly what I mean, and it can only be understood by those who have lived it. Yes, the song still sounds nice, but dont pretend to understand. N thats why the best psychologists are the ones who work in a field that they have experience. Point proven!

    Song Meaning:I do not believe that this song has a general meaning in life. If you analyze the whole song in the perspective of only the people who have dealt with a drug abuse problem and have recovered then the song would likely make perfect sense. He even hints at it when he sings "and im saying a prayer for the desperate hearts tonight." by pointing out those who have this issue and are still looking for "the light." I had always loved this song but honestly I had no clue of what he was talking about. One day I got on my itunes and listened to it and I automatically felt a shiver. Not a bad one though, I had realized that I was lying to myself and covering all of my problems up with drugs. I was always trying to numb myself so that I wouldnt feel the real pain that stress can really cause. I now have an anxiety disorder. I always felt alone with my sister not talking to me, girls saw that I wasnt such a colorful person, and my parents both about 1400 miles away (one in Afghanistan, the other italy). I have been trying to figure out life and eventually fell into a depression that i did not realize. I eventually saw "the light" that he was talking about. It really was "amazing," and for all those of you who think that that is cheesy, when you are one who has lived it, its not and it actually made me want to cry but I was so happy at the same time. I finally saw that life wasnt over and that i could change it. The only way to change it was by going "up" because when I hid my problems they kept building up and accumulating. I am almost certain that this is what it means just because of that spark that it triggered in my mind, but I cannot speak for him with certainty. If anyone else has felt this they would know immediately with the first 16 lines.

    To see me through all my sins (Awareness sees the overall picture... and sees that every sin you feel you committed was done in a state of unconsciousness.. "forgive them, for they do not know what they do")

    Tryin' to walk through the pain (When you keep the right ones out and let the wrong ones in, life will be full of pain and suffering.. sometimes to the extent that you feel you're going insane... "sane" people who wake up realize how insane they really were)
