Threw you the obvious and you flew with it on your back a name
In your recollection down among a million same
Difficult not to feel a little bit disappointed
And passed over when I've looked right through to see
You naked and oblivious and you don't see me
But I threw you the obvious just to see
If there's more behind the eyes of a fallen angel eyes of a tragedy
Here I am expecting just a little bit too much
From the wounded but I see through it all and see you
So I threw you the obvious to see what occurs behind the eyes of a fallen angel
Eyes of a tragedy oh well apparently nothing
You don't see me you don't see me at all

General Comment:i kinda feel like this song is about being more in love with someone than they are with you. also, knowing too that you care/love that person more. so, i feel like he's testing the person to see their response and i feel like he's felt this way several times (or 3 specific times) and that the reason they dont stay together is because he feels they don't understand him. i think once you feel like you've been screwed that way, you dont want a relationship. so you just use people for sex, even tho all that does is fill a temporary void. idk, just my thoughts. his lyrics always have multiple different meanings, obviously his is the true one.

General Comment:I think this song has to do with not being able to see our higher consciousness....and not knowing what we truley are

My Interpretation:i think that 3 libras has to do with 3 pounds, the average weight of a human brain. I think that in the song maynard explains how no one will ever really understand him and be able to see the way his mind works. For example in the lyrics when he says "you don't see me you don't see me at all"

General Comment:This song means a lot to me now. These songs bring back a lot of memories from being with my ex girlfriend. A lot of key moments (and very happy moments) in the relationship happened while A Perfect Circle was playing.

This song speaks a lot about my ex. She used to be the most amazing girl. She was an amazing person that brightened up my life. Now that we have been apart for 7 months, I have to almost think that she has become what this song is talking about. Whenever I hear this song, I remember how she used to be, and how things are now. Maybe she is a fallen angel that has forever changed her ways.

Song Meaning:i'm Autistic and the meaning was obvious to me, but now this song is really funny to me now after seeing what other people thought it was about. The lyrics up top arent exactly right, but whatever, the song is about people realizing the truth and the difference between good or bad; which is how we evolved into humans. Ever wonder why pounds are abbreviated LBS? Ever looked at the astrological sign for LiBraS(scale)? 3LBS is the weight of an adult male brain. Also interesting, are the SCALES in the use of "accentual verse"and german"alliterative metres." The signature 3,2 starts the song. Genesis 3:2 is the first time eve speaks to the devil, still naked and oblivious. then another 2 is added to make it 3,2,2 and it repeats like this; threeeeew-you-the,ob-vious,and-you....fleeeeew-with-it,on-your,back-a....naaaaame-in-your,re-co,lec-tion....dooooown-a-mong,a-mill,ion-same....diff-i-cult,not-to,feel-a....lit-tle-bit,dis-a,poin-ted....Genesis 3:22 is where god said "Behold, man has become like one of us, knowing good and evil." that is when we evolved into humans and mans brain started to weigh 3 LiBraS. they threw you the obvious with the title "3 libras" but maybe you didnt catch on to pounds or scales.astrology is fake, you shouldnt focus on fake things, alot of this singers songs make people do that. now that you know, listen to the song again guys

General Comment:This song is so beautiful. It conveys its sadness so beautifully. Not just the lyrics but the vocals, the instrumentation... everything...

My Interpretation:this song ( for me ) is the test i give women to see if they are right for me. if i am attracted to them i slowly test there knowledge an intellect. most fail, but one day i hope to find one that does not. but i will not have a relationship with some one that cant understand what im talking about. and because of my education in metaphysics, astrophysics, history, chem., nuc. chem, it is hard. to put and easy example for most people to understand.
"that guy would even fallow oedipus rex until he is blind as well"

meaning he will jump on any thing that has an opening and lets him in.

it may be mean but i know you all have seen this type of person, man and woman.

General Comment:Maynard is excellent at provoking interested listeners into reflection. It is my opinion that both intentionally and sometimes unintentionally, his works are significant on several levels of interpretation. Therefore, I am not sure that it is his intention to provoke you into gleaning his own personal affairs more clearly. It seems more likely an effort to have you reflect on their underlying themes in light of your own personal experiences. Not to say that it is an unbiased presentation of the subject matter he prefers to express. He has a view on the most important matters of being that he almost begs you to take an interest in discovering rather than tell you exactly what is on his mind and lose the importance and value of questioning and discovery. Think for yourself, question authority. That said, I have reinterpreted this song many times now and in deep reflection have even arrived at what might seem to many as strange ideas. The only person I believe Maynard to hold in the high regards as the object of this song is his mother. Not coincidentally, she is a recurring subject of his writings that serves to illuminate so much of the intention and meaning behind them. I do believ there's a connection between 3 libras and the holy Christian triune. Relisten to the song assuming these claims and see what occurs to you.

General Comment:Here's what I get from it. Perhaps the girl he is talking about is a prostitute/fallen angel, naked and oblivious to his feelings for her but he has strong feelings for her? But, he is like all the others(million same)...forgotten.

General Comment:And that is what he means by "I threw you the obvious"

When you find a soul mate or potential soul mate, you don't need words to let them know
there is something deep there. It is just obvious. You just know when you look at
each other even both collapse to vulnerability, dropping all walls and letting the heart open.

"You don't see me at all"
