Lyrics for America as interpreted by Ice

America Lyrics
Far
We've been traveling far
Without a home
But not without a star
Free
Only want to be free
We huddle close
Hang on to a dream

On the boats and on the planes
They're coming to America
Never looking back again
They're coming to America

Home, don't it seem so far away
Oh, we're traveling light today
In the eye of the storm
In the eye of the storm

Home, to a new and a shiny place
Make our bed, and we'll say our grace
Freedom's light burning warm
Freedom's light burning warm

Everywhere around the world
They're coming to America
Every time that flag's unfurled
They're coming to America

Got a dream to take them there
They're coming to America
Got a dream they've come to share
They're coming to America

They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
They're coming to America
Today, today, today, today, today

My country 'tis of thee
Today
Sweet land of liberty
Today
Of thee I sing
Today
Of thee I sing
Today

About one of the defining characteristics of this country and what makes it so special. That still, to this day, people around the world see it as the promised land.

Few people know that Neil Diamond is fueled creatively by his massive hatred for immigrants.

This should replace the Star Spangled Banner as the National Anthem. Doesn't this song just make you wanna raise your fist in the air and yell out "AMERICA!!"

I agree with you lisap86, this song fills American hearts with patriotic pride. I wish Reagan had used this song as his 1984 re-election campaign theme.
No other song-not even the national anthem-encapsulates the ideals that American was founded on.

Surely a song directed to the mass incoming of immigrants looking for some fortune and fame in America.

midnight_listener: besides the native Indians, who's "really" American?

Anything Diamond touches truly "sparkles", including the vast majority of his wardrobe. Disputedly the best showman in the history of broadcast music. He gives his heart to the audience. America is a sterling example. All hail Neil!
