Highway run
Into the midnight sun
Wheels go round and round
You're on my mind
Restless hearts
Sleep alone tonight
Sendin' all my love
Along the wire

They say that the road
Ain't no place to start a family
Right down the line
It's been you and me
And lovin' a music man
Ain't always what it's supposed to be

Oh girl you stand by me
I'm forever yours, faithfully

Circus life
Under the big top world
We all need the clowns
To make us smile
Through space and time
Always another show
Wondering where I am
Lost without you

And being apart ain't easy on this love affair
Two strangers learn to fall in love again
I get the joy
Of rediscovering you
Oh girl, you stand by me
I'm forever yours, faithfully

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Faithfully, I'm still yours
I'm forever yours
Ever yours, faithfully

General Comment:It's a sad song. The only way to stay in love is to stay strangers,to always
be lost. And they love the one their with rather staying faithful...

This song is awesome, and these lines articulate perfectly the one advantage of long-distance love. You learn to really appreciate it when you get to be together.

General Comment:This song pretty much tells its own story. I find it fascinating that it could be mis- understood- with Steve Perry pouring his heart out (whether he wrote it or not) and really conveying deep emotion. Anyone ever married to, or involved with, a touring musician has no problem understanding or appreciating this song.

General Comment:this is definately going to be the first dance at my wedding. as i replyed earlier to paigernichole, this song describes perfectly the army life that i live with my fiancee. and not to mention that journey is one of the greatest bands to ever grace this planet..

General Comment:This song is a prime example of how true love should be. Nothing's perfect but you have to work on it to make it work!

General Comment:i really love this song cuz my bf is in the army and in iraq at the moment and let me tell you what this distance between us is hard to deal with. this song reminds me of him a lot. he sent these lyrics to me when he first got into iraq.

General Comment:It's my all time favorite song and no one can sing it like Steve Perry!!! He's got a awesome voice. I listen to the new Journey but only their new songs. When I want to listen to the real Journey, I have to listen to Steve Perry even though he is not the original lead vocalist, he has been the best and made the band name Journey big and no one else will ever be able to do that!!! ;@)

General Comment:I've never had a girlfriend, but this song still makes me think about a very good friend of mine. We were in a college church group together, and she was just always right there by my side, sharing the good times and fighting by my side through the bad. She was like a sister to me. But then somewhere along the line she just...disappeared, in a sense. Every time I hear this song I can't help but wondering about her.
