Dark as roses
Fine as sand
Fell your healing
And your sting again
hear you laughing
And my soul is saved
On forgotten graves you cry

Crawl like ivy
Up my spine
Through my nerves
And into my eyes
Cuts like anguish
Or recollections
Of better days gone by

But it's all right
When you're caught in pain
And you feel the rain come down
It's all right
When you find you way
Then you see it disappear
It's all right
Though your garden's gray
I know all your graces
Someday will flower
In a sweet sunshower

Eyes like oceans
So far away
A feather trail
To a better way
Worried mornings turn
Into days
Then into worried nights
But it's all right
All you'll be you are today

General Comment:This IS a really amazing song, despite what anyone says. The lyrics are superb compared to a lot of the crap that gets spouted out today... cookie cutter lyrics from cookie cutter bands. The song is somewhat similar to Zeppelin's Rain Song. It makes the analogy of rain, but alludes to better times. A sunshower occurs when it rains but the sun is still shining. I also like that the song is not over-produced. It's nearly acoustic sounding... In fact, I bet it's pretty emotional when sung completely acoustic.

My Opinion:I find Chris Cornell the best songwriter ever lived, I'm not willing to get into a "what's his best song" discussion, he matured over the years in his songwriting skills and I don't think you can compare older and newer work from him.

I like the depressing songs from his "Susan Silver period".

General Comment:I've grown up to Chris Cornell, pretty much my entire life. I've loved this man since I could speak. Every song touches my heart in everyway. I lost my Dad four years ago, and Chris has worked wonders in helping me deal with all of that. This song touches my heart, and I hope it touches everyone elses as well. His voice is his own, and there will never be another Chris Cornell!

General Comment:Supah Dude, unless your reading off an official list of Chris Cornell's top 20 songs or something, your opinion is just like everyone elses.

This song has absolutely fantastic imagery, it progresses amazingly, and is sung with great passion. That is enough to make an awesome song right there, in my opinion.

General Comment:Everyone who has said this is "the best" or "one of the best" songs Chris Cornell has ever done, is a fucking dick head. I think this song is great - but don't talk bullshit. It's probably not even one of his top 20 songs." Just because you like it doesn't mean it's FANFUCKINGTASTIC! Whoever said this shows of Chris Cornell's style is talking bullshit. He's get a rock voice. He's got MASSIVE range and incredible lyrical writing skill. Yea, this song has good lyrics, but doesn't REALLY test his vocals, so already, it's not THAAAT good.

OK, this is about depression and living those old days when things were good, living in the past when times were better. It may be Cornell himself projecting the image of someone else, but it is in fact himself.

But he reflects, and realizes that sometimes we all need to cry to get through tough times. "On everyone's life, a little rain must fall". Chris makes this rain a sunshower to show that tears do not have to be a bad thing.
