This is forgiven
If the uniform fits
Postponed
At the first showing
This is the tension mold
Of frozen icicles
And it feels like it's snowing
You speak in tongues
Tremors that warn us of ourselves

Born in hearts
Etched in cold
At the first showing
Walk away

Nothing bleeds the same
My travel expenses paid
Postponed
At the first showing
This dance is out of rhythm
We trip on excess steps
Postponed
At the first showing
You speak in tongues
Tremors that warn us of ourselves

Born in hearts
Etched in cold
Swing-sets pay
The playground toll

Tremors that hold us
Tremors that warn us
Nothing bleeds like

    General Comment:It's about Tony's grandmother. Not Paul's.

General Comment:I know the song's about Paul's grandmother, but I can't help but think of it in the context of a relationship I had that never went anywhere. Every time I think of it and regret it, that line "walk away" comes to mind.

Song Meaning:After learning that this song is about the Lebanese civil war it makes a lot more sense.
"this is forgiven if the uniform fits, postponed, at the first showing"
I think this means: We will forgive you if you're one of us - and they're waiting to see...
"this is the tension mold, of frozen icicles, and it feels like it's snowing"
I think this means: Do you fit, into the cold (evil)
"you speak in tongues, tremors that warn us of ourselves"
I think this means: we are confused, we know we're wrong
"born in hearts, etched in cold"
I think this means: we are born innocent and brought up evil

General Comment:I happen to like this song a lot. As if you couldn't tell...

One thing I have to say about this song, however, is actually a suggestion.

    Learn how to play bass.
Then learn how to play this song on bass.

I don't know why, but it just really draws out all the emotion in the song for me to play along.

General Comment:I know nothing about the history of the title, but this song is amazing. Absolutely my favorite song.
It actually reminds me of my cousin's funeral. I love how this song has so much emotion, every time I play it, it brings me back to that day.

General Comment:"198d" was written about drummer Tony Hajjar's grandmother, who was buried in a mass grave in Lebanon. The title was taken from an inscription on her gravestone. ---wikipedia

General Comment:It depicts the grave of Tony's Grandmother during the Lebanese civil war. 198d is the Graveyard marker.
