There's things I want
There's things I think I want
There's things I have
There's things I wanna have
Do I want the dreams?
The ones were forced to see?

Do I want the perfect wife?
The word perfect, ain't quite right
Shopping every day, take it back the next break
They say the more you fly
The more you risk your life

I'm just looking
I'm not buying
I'm just looking
Keeps me smiling

A house I've seen
Another could'a been
You drenched my head
And said what I said
You said that life is what you make of it
Yet most of us just fake

I'm just looking
I'm not buying
I'm just looking
Keeps me smiling

I'm just looking
I'm not buying
Ooh, I'm just looking
Keeps me trying

I'm just looking
I'm not buying
Ooh, I'm just looking
Keeps me smiling

There's things I want
There's things I think I want
There's things I have
There's things I wanna have
They say the more you fly
The more you risk your life
Well I'm just looking
I'm not buying
I'm just looking
Keeps me smiling

why havent more people commented on this song? it has a pretty simple meaning, to me anyway, its about not being sure of what you want in life and all these people telling you what to do. you grow up with security and an image of all these things we should be doing, and sometimes its scarier to break away from the 'norm' and do what you want to, rather than follow every1 else into a dead end job. thats how i see it anyway!! im doin my as levels and have decided it isnt what i want to do so am quitting to go to college and study art and music. i cant wait! xxx

here kelly is basically saying that everyone in life has so many expectations and dreams, and everyone is always looking for something better than they already have, whether it be something material or a partner. thats wot keeps everyone happy and content, the fact they think something better is gonna come along!!

For me personally this song is about wanting someone you can't have whether it's due to rejection or other situations, and instead you find ways to include this person in your life even if you aren't in theirs. "The perfect wife, but perfect ain't quite right" line shows that no matter who it is, it isn't the person you want to have. Also, the lines "things I've had, things I want to have" mean to me that at one point this person was in your life but now they are just a memory you hold onto.

can't believe no one's commented on this song! It's so great. Stereophonics are so great. I was thinking about this song when it was on television the other day and it just kinda clicked what it meant, like, about the things in life that you can have..he's just looking at them, he's not buying them just yet and he's happy that he's not buying them yet cause he's not ready. Long live kelly Jones.

this is probly my favorite stereophonics song, what i take from it is that he is thinking about the things in life he always wanted, but isnt getting upset by not having them. it just makes him happy to think about them, but kelly is still happy and satsified with his life.

Its about being in love with someone and they dont know and never will...the word perfect aint quite right as you know it never will be perfect as you can never be with that person. But as long as you can see that person its enough for you (keeps me smiling) cos u love them so much..

sort of like hollyautumn's...when you're in love (but with someone you can't have) and you just look at them thinking everything kelly sings in this song .i love the lyrics more than the music.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
