A walk like a burned out porn star
With aching feet for a car
My buddy had a baby with a girl named star
Makes me appreciate how the little things are
But crossing a road isn't easily told
To a young has-been centerfold
Labelled a winner's episode
Yeah, I'm really clean if you know what I mean
Except for this recurring dream
Of losing total feeling
While the windmill's squealing
The windmill's squealing
I paint to kill the dead saints
I paint to make it clear
My colors run in blue and gray
But they give hope to someone dear
Yeah, yeah, yeah, 2AM lovesick
With a walking pneumonia drumkick
And this candle doens't have a wick
But I'm really not that scared
No, I'm not that scared
A walk like a burned out porn star
With aching feet for a car
My buddy had a baby with a girl named star
Makes me appreciate how the little things are
With aching feet for a car
My buddy had a baby with a girl named star
Makes me appreciate how the little things are
But crossing a road isn't easily told
To a young has-been centerfold
Labelled a winner's episode
Yeah, I'm really clean if you know what I mean
Except for this recurring dream
Of losing total feeling
While the windmill's squealing
The windmill's squealing
I paint to kill the dead saints
I paint to make it clear
My colors run in blue and gray
But they give hope to someone dear
Yeah, yeah, yeah, 2AM lovesick
With a walking pneumonia drumkick
And this candle doens't have a wick
But I'm really not that scared
No, I'm not that scared
A walk like a burned out porn star
With aching feet for a car
My buddy had a baby with a girl named star
Makes me appreciate how the little things are

Two A.M. Lovesick: "Written at 2am at Empire Cafe Houston, TX. I loved the freedom, the tremel on the guitar flonts"
The first lines are refering to his walk...obviously...like a burnt out porn star...kinda dragging yourself along.
"But crossing the road isn't easily told
To a young has-been centerfold" again refers to the initial reference to porn star. It's not easy to go to the other side, when you've been in the pit of something for so long. "labels the winner's episode" means when this person is seen to be able to have a chance at something, even though they may not think so.
"Yeah, I'm really clean, if you know what I mean
Except for this reoccuring dream
Of losing total feeling
While the windmill's squealing" Clean, refering to drugs of course, but has a reoccuring thought about losing emotions and becoming numb. And the windmill I think can refer to the world keeping spinning while this is happening-or the sequeling symbolizing something wrong with the windmill (him.)
Now my fav part : "I paint to kill the dead saints
I paint to make it clear
My colors run in blue and grey
But they give hope to someone dear." Justin often refers to his music as being a beautiful painting; an art that helps ease his pain. "Painting" to "kill the dead saints" refers to writing about the things that have added to his seed of depression....the colours of blue and grey refer to this dark, sad world he was once it, but the fact that he is writing to help cleanse his soul, gives hope to those who care for his recovery.
A "walking pneumonia drum kick" can be reference to his "sickness," helped by music. Candle not having a wick, this never ends. I'm not that scared...adds a positive outlook towards the end.
A song that truly makes me happy when I'm down. Brilliant writer and man Justin is :)
I think thats not good.
BLUE OCTOBER IS THE BEST.
this song is kind of difficult to interpret. it's going in so many different directions.
My colors run in blue and gray
But they give hope to someone dear
my theory for that is that people expect things in black and white, but it can't always be that way, and sometimes it's better to see things in shades of gray.
