Will I wake up
Is it a dream I made up
No I guess it's reality
What will change us
Or will we mess up
Our only chance to connect
With a dream

Say a prayer for me
I'm buried by the sound
In a world of human
Wreckage
I'm lost and I'm found
And I can't touch the
Ground
I'm plowed into the sound

To see wide open
With a head that's broken
Hang a life on a tragedy
Plow me under the ground
That covers the message
That is the seed

General Comment:I see this song having two possible meaning depending on how you want to take it. Looking at the lyrics, it's about a person who's surrounded by a ton of bad stuff, hoping they're dreaming with all the bad stuff around them. And they're saying when they do wake up, everything will be better. It could be social commentary about how bad the world is. It could also be a metaphor for someone having a nightmare. They're confused on what's happening and just hope it ends to a better life.

The other meaning is a religious person. They're surrounded by sin and hoping to stay away from it, asking people to pray for them. The line 'I'm lost and I'm found, but I can't touch the ground' is a reference to the bible. In the prodigal son, the father says 'My son was lost, but now he's found.' A reference to Christians. And the narrator is asking for prayers to help them survive without falling. Also, a lot of Christians say that this life doesn't matter, because Heaven will be amazing, so this life is like a bad dream. Either or.

Song Meaning:My take on the meaning is that it's a song about pursuing your dream in the face of doubt and naysayers.

    "will i wake up
is it a dream i made up
    no i guess it's reality
    what will change us
    or will we mess up
    our only chance to connect
    with a dream"

Generally daydreams are about things we want. He's hoping that he won't wake up and be disappointed to find out that his possibly life-changing pursuit will not have been real.

    "say a prayer for me
    i'm buried by the sound
    in a world of human
    wreckage
    i'm lost and i'm found
    and i can't touch the
    ground
    i'm plowed into the sound"

He asks for those around him to wish him luck in his pursuit, because he knows the sound of those with broken dreams who will inevitably attempt to dissuade him can be deafening. The further and closer he gets to accomplishing his dream, the more opposition he may face, but presses on nonetheless.

    "to see wide open
    with a head that's broken
hang a life on a tragedy
    plow me under the ground
    that covers the message
    that is the seed"

He knows that even getting closer, that dwelling on failure is how self doubt begins. Doubt that could cause him to give up his cause, accept defeat, and join the rest of those who have abandoned their hopes & dreams.

    "will i wake up
is it a dream i made up
    no i guess it's reality"

The songs ends with him having made his original dream a reality.

General Comment:I don't know why, but I think this is the greatest song in the world. It has a deep meaning that is hard to translate, it has amazing rythms and beats, It has a catchy verses and choruses, and It is a powerful song that is underrated but still finds fans that love just as much As I do. I've come up with a few possible meanings, but I still don't know if I'm right, but either way, this song is 100% perfection.

My Opinion:Is it just me, or does this sound like a social distortion song?
I mean, c'mon..the singer sounds like Mike Ness, don't he?

My Opinion:Sorry if I offended any Farmers or Sheriffs or Police because I know/met some of great ones.
And I am very very sorry to people who lost someone they love in a car crash, I have also lost people I love before I believe it was their time...
And if I made you not like the song; just be happy inside when you hear it, God will save the boy and everyone else at the end of time, there's an afterlife, there is not just blackness when we die.

    Song Meaning:;;MY MEANING ((VERY)) GRAPHIC SORRY I BELIEVE YOU'RE ALL RIGHT AND HERE OUR MEANING TOO;;
It's a sad song and your subconscious knows what it means,
that's why you feel overwhelmed when you hear it.
It takes place in the 50's.
A young guy (or a boy, really because he is singing to his parents) was killed by a car going very fast; with a big fender or grill on it (you know with a spike on the front old 50's car) on a far away two lane country road he was walking on.
He was basically ALL covered with blood and his body was badly ripped up.
The Sheriff arrived at the hit and run (probably because the farmer called). The Sheriff said he was "too gross with blood to take hospital (or the morgue) unless you sewed him together before you put him in the car".
So the farmer plowed him into the ground because the Sheriff said to.
In the old days they used to plow pig remains in the ground like the bones and unused pieces or (hopefully) dead sick ones as fertilizer.
Months before in that field the farmer plowed some pig remains in the Earth where they plowed that boy. He says he is plowed into the SOUND (maybe nobody could hear him screaming over the plow running the boy over) but change it to sow. He wants you to know where he is buried.

My brother says this is what it means, I believe him. He is a genius.
Human wreckage, his world is now literally human wreckage and he is a ghost stuck reliving it (hanging on life by a tragedy).

His only chance was lost when the farmer and police plowed him into that random field.
Now he doesn't have a grave.
His parents can't try to sew him together to save him, he's mixed with pigs remains in the dirt.
He is Lost and Found. Because there is no record of him being anywhere.
He's atoms are telling him he is a ghost now.
    * Really he'll be okay one day Jesus will pull him up from the ground with a perfect body, he just has to wait though.
