Lyrics for Wannabe as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

Wannabe Lyrics
Yo, I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,
So tell me what you want, what you really really want,
I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,
So tell me what you want, what you really really want,
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really
really really wanna zigazig ha.

If you want my future forget my past,
If you wanna get with me better make it fast,
Now don't go wasting my precious time,
Get your act together we could be just fine

I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,
So tell me what you want, what you really really want,
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really
really really wanna zigazig ha.

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends,
Make it last forever friendship never ends,
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give,
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is.

What do you think about that now you know how I feel,
Say you can handle my love are you for real,
I won't be hasty, I'll give you a try
If you really bug me then I'll say goodbye.

Yo I'll tell you what I want, what I really really want,
So tell me what you want, what you really really want,
I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, I wanna really
really really wanna zigazig ha.

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends,
Make it last forever friendship never ends,
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give,
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is.

So here's a story from A to Z, you wanna get with me
you gotta listen carefully,
We got Em in the place who likes it in your face,
we got G like MC who likes it on an
Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady,
and as for me you'll see,
Slam your body down and wind it all around
Slam your body down and wind it all around.

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends,
Make it last forever friendship never ends,
If you wanna be my lover, you have got to give,
Taking is too easy, but that's the way it is.

If you wanna be my lover, you gotta, you gotta, you
gotta,
you gotta, you gotta, slam, slam, slam, slam
Slam your body down and wind it all around.
Slam your body down and wind it all around.
Slam your body down and wind it all around.
Slam your body down zigazig ah
If you wanna be my lover.

this song was at its peak when i was about 6 and i can remember sitting on the kitchen floor making a tablecloth with my older cousins. when this song came on they were so excited and i had never heard it before then. i'll never forget that. of course i had no idea what the lyrics meant at the time. but regardless of what the song is about or if you like it or not, you have to admit that it was definately a major piece of the 90's

Mhh.. for those that cannot see this is about sex, two clues: 1. They're called the Spice Girls, not the Sweet Girls. 2. If you wannabe my lover.. dead giveaway, or not? This song is about oral sex.
- make it last forever
- you got to give
- taking is so easy
- Em likes it in your face
- G likes it on an E (yes, that's drugs)
- V doesn't COME for free...

You gotta get with my friends is a reference to their female organs, so to say.

Omg where to start....
This song has so much meaning both on a mental and metaphyscial level. This states the illustrious metaphor of a seed. And that seed grows into a tree through long hard work and water. the name "Spice" in Spice girls refers to the rare spice plant the Vanilla Panifolia, which as we all know purifies the soul and rejuvenates at the same time. The line "I'll tell you what I want" shows the desire of the human race to grow and flourish as the Vanilla Panifolia does in the lush forests of Borneo. Always grow towards the sun my dear friends...never wilt in the face of adversity. I hope this song inspires all you budding seeds out there to be all you ever dreamed possible. Grow to the light! I love and cherish each and every one of you. And as the sun sets on this marvelous day on the beaches of Borneo, let the glistening rains cleanse your soul and may the spice girls live forever in the seed that they planted in each person that has had the pleasure of being taken on a glorious ride through one of their magical songs.

I don't care what anyone says; this song revolutionized modern pop music.
Its peppy beat draws in the listener, despite the simple and stupid, yet fun and catchy, lyrics.

That's how most pop music is today.
Most of the lyrics are shit, but it has a fun beat, so people love it nonetheless.
This song definitely started that trend.

Rock on, Spice Girls.
I would love to see them on their tour.

This is about polyamorous relationships. The Spice Girls share all their guys with each other, and their main rule is that he must sleep with ALL of the Spice Girls. This is an issue because nobody wants to sleep with Sporty Spice.

The song depicts the girls explaining what someone has to do "if you wannabe my lover". The word "Zig-a-Zig-ah" used in the song was made up by the girls and Melanie C said in Friday Night Project that it means sex

Do YOU realise that the song is simply about sex? I know you probably think you're smart with your analysis, but the Spice Girls were never smart with their song lyrics. Mel C has said herself that this song is about sex. But nice try I guess..

Does anyone else realize that this song is about friendship?! That when you're with a guy he has to be friends with your girls. Because your girls always come first! When they say, "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta 'get with' my friends." They aren't saying you have to have sex with them, the British used 'get with' in totally different way. Theyr'e just saying you gotta be able to get along with them. Remember; GIRL POWER!

"So here's a story from A to Z. You wanna get with me you gotta listen carefully. We got Em in the place who likes it in your face. We got G like MC who likes it on. Easy V doesn't come for free, she's a real lady" - Has nothing to do with drugs or prostitution. Mel B is introducing the girls. When she introduces Victoria, she's saying she's a classy lady, she needs a man that will buy her stuff and take her out to dinner.

- linds "friendship never ends."

what's with all the spice-girls-hating comments?! sure they're not popular anymore but they're everything that was awesome about the '90s, and i'm really sick of people being so negative. it's just fun music, and it brings back memories of when people didn't suck so much. now i listen to rock and metal and all that but there's nothing wrong with the spice girls just because people like to make fun of them (even though you know you were a fan when you were a little kid in the 90s, admit it).

OMG! I can't believe it's already been 10 years! I remember after this song came out, the "Cool Britannia" fad started. When I visited London 10 years ago, this song was the biggest song on the planet and I couldn't escape it! I wish the Spice Girls would reunite just once to sing "Wannabe" with older, more mature voices...

Me and some friends from my school has imitated Spice Girls a couple of times. It is really fun. You should try it. This was the first song we acted with. It's a kind of tradition to make Spice girls everytime we've got an "Open stage" now.
