Lyrics for Viva Forever as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

Viva Forever Lyrics
Do you still remember, how we used to be
Feeling together, believe in whatever
My love has said to me
Both of us were dreamers
Young love in the sun
Felt like my Saviour, my spirit I gave you
We'd only just begun

Hasta Manana, Always be mine

Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live Forever, for the moment
Ever searching for the one

Yes I still remember, every whispered word
The touch of your skin, giving life from within
Like a love song that I'd heard
Slipping through your fingers, like the sands of time
Promises made, every memory saved
Has reflections in my mind

Hasta Manana, Always be mine

Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live Forever, for the moment
Ever searching for the one

But we're alone now, was it just a dream
Feelings untold, they will never be sold
And the secret's safe with me

Hasta Manana, Always be mine

Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live Forever, for the moment
Ever searching for the one

As i've seen in the video the interpretation of this song is lost of someone close.
in the video we see a young girl with her little brother walking in the woods and then the boy is being swallowed by a Hungarian cube which is a metaphor for kidnapping case that is hard to solve - a mystery.
then the girl is sad and tries to figure out the right combination for the cube but she fails- the meaning is they never found the little boy.
at the end the girls throughs the cube into a big box with lots of cubes and that box symbolizes all the kidnapping stories that have never been solved.
!!!!!!!!!!!!very depressing video when you think about it..............

i think it's the only spice girls song that can really get you listening and can get down to your emotions.

it is a beautiful song.

Tomer, are you sure you're not mistaken? The video I saw was the opposite, the little boy was searching for his sister. The rest of what you said seems true. I knew the song (or video, at least) had to do with losing someone but good job on your part for making some sense of the video. I love this song!

i used to love the spice girls and i think that every teenager my age who liked them still has a special place in their hearts for them theyre just too scared to admit it. I used to love them as a kid, in happier days. i never understood this song but now i do...its the only song of theirs i still listen to. i liked them when i was happy and i grew up listening 2 spice girls so they'll always have a special place in my heart... this is my fave song by them...

This is the best Spice Girls track without a doubt!

There`s something mysterious about it, its like a dreamy song. It makes me think about childhood and the dreams you still have inside :-)

In the video, the girl/guy (I couldn't really tell the gender of the person) loses their love..not their brother/sister. And the person being lost in the rubix cube doesn't necessarily mean they were kidnapped..they could have died when they were still young or something as simple as them "breaking up". But without a doubt.. this is - as you all agree - theee best Spice Girls song ever made!

The story line of this song and video as i initially understood it is about a person looking back at his/her past, when they were both young and in love, and everything was perfect. But as time went by things changed, and they grow apart. So eventually all thats left is the memories.

The big gumball machine (or whatever it is) at the end symbolizes a memory bank, and the egg things are memories.

When this song first came out, i was around the same age as the kids in the video, and i had a similar story as them, and as time past the same thing happened to me. Now all thats left is the great memories.

One of the best Spice Girl songs in my opinion.
I never really understood where it was about back then, but right now I do agree with thesun_stillsleeps.
Maybe tomer83 is right too, that was a whole new explanation of the song/vid for me.
But I'm sure it's about your first love, you'll still keep thinking about the memories.

Are you all high? or just stupid? I mean,i loved them in my day as muchas the next girl (or guy), but the lyrics don't even make sense! It sounds like ignorant people trying to write poetry by taking words and phrases from other poems and putting them in radnom order and expecting it to sound smart. I've seen retarded kids write better enlish than this. There's nothing beautiful and moving about this, its just sad. I have to say, though, I got a good laugh out of hearing this song again. I can't beleive this used to be my favorite song ever.

I love this song. Everytime I hear it, I think of the scene from Spice World where they all are thinking about the past, then they all show up at the Coffee Shop. It's so touching. This song is definetly thinking of the one person who made you feel special and who touched your heart and soul. And even though you're apart from that person, you'll always love them. I think this song is beautiful! Too bad it was their last hit with Geri. But whatever- they're back together and everything's good now.

sorry guys, but you're all wrong haha.

The video starts off with a storybook about two teens, possibly best friends, running around the woods when they encounter a case (similar to the case that's inside a Kinder Surprise) that opens by itself which revealed a toy chicken. The two teens chased after the chicken until they see another case open by itself containing fairies. While the boy continues to chase after the chicken, the girl stays and the fairies play with her, give her a kiss on the nose, a secret...etc. They fly the girl to another place in front of a medium sized rubik's cube. The fairies are dancing on the rubik's cube until the middle on the top opens. They force the girl to go inside. Meanwhile, the boy sees the fairies about to close the cube. By the time he gets to the cube, his friend is gone, the fairies disappear, and the cube becomes toy-sized. He then walks in the woods by himself with the rubik's cube until he sees a giant coin vending machine which contains other cases. A blue light shines in front of him and he puts the rubik's cube inside of a case and throws it in the coin vending machine and walks away. It ends with the fairies flying in the sky, following the boy. Although the girl is missing from his life, the boy will keep the memories of him "forever".

This video can be interpreted as a boy coming to terms with the loss of his friend. His mate is no longer part of his life, whether it is the result of death, disease, or just separation. The boy struggles with his emotions, which is symbolized through him struggling to solve the rubik's cube. By the end of the video, the boy places the rubik's cube in a case and throws it into a giant coin vending machine, indicating that the boy will keep the memories of him in his mind as he moves on with his life. Although not intended , the irony of the title of the song and the music video (in which the cube with the Geri Fairy lifts up away from the others out of shoot )shows the the Departure of Halliwell and Destiny of the group afterwards.

I think it's a young love song... (I'll keep it short and go right to the end)

...and there for, I think the boy throwing the plastic case into the machine symbolizes a sense of destony... something like

'If you're my one, then we will be together one day, and I will wait.'

2 years after my first comment.

i see all these comments and i still think about it's kidnapped kids:

- 2 kids (in my opnion borther & sister) getting lost in the woods, led by the chicken toy = represents the bait.
- girl getting inside the rubik's box = kidnapped mystery that was never solved.
- the eggs box = all the kidnapping stories that was never solved...

wasn't the video something to do with Geri leaving the band? It was the last song she officially recordered with them.
at the beginning of the video there's five fairies & at the end when they come out of the machine thing there's only four.

i love this song (: i still get shivers every time i listen to it.

Well i don't think Geri leaving was a known issue back the and i think they all thought it wouldn't be there last as a five so just recorded it and then she left. And yeah i've never noticde about the four at the end, but i think thats the memory for Geri as she was then a memory aswell.

But i agree with the person who said that it was like a memory board thinking back about his em short life.... better if they got a older guy to chuck it up.

Never really thought what it meant until today, always seen the very freaky sad type video for it but neer really understood it until now.

And with the chicken i'm just saying it's fate that she had to follow the chicken(fate) and got swallowed by the cube.
