Lyrics for Goodbye as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

Goodbye Lyrics
no no no no no no no no no no no no

listen little child there will come a day
when you will be able able to say
never mind the pain all the aggravation
you know there's a better way for you and me to be

look for the rainbow in every storm
fly like an angel heaven sent to me

goodbye my friend
i know you're going searching although i can still feel you here
it's not the end
gonna keep it strong before the pain turns into fear

so glad we made it time will never change it
no no no

no no no no

just a little girl big imagination
never letting no one take it away
went into the world what a revelation
she found there's a better way for you and me to be

look for the rainbow in every storm
find out for certain love's gonna be there for you
you'll always be someone's baby

goodbye my friend
i know you're going searching although i can still feel you here
it's not the end
gonna keep it strong before the pain turns into fear

so glad we made it time will never change it
no no no
no no no no
you know it's time to say goodbye
no no no no

the times when we would play about
the way we used to scream and shout
never dreamt you'd go your own sweet way

look for the rainbow in every storm
find out for certain love's gonna be there for you
you'll always be someone's baby

goodbye my friend
i know you're going searching although i can still feel you here
it's not the end
gonna keep it strong before the pain turns into fear

so glad we made it time will never never ever change it
no no no no
you know it's time to say goodbye
no no no no
and don't forget you can rely
no no no no
you know it's time to say goodbye
no no no no
and don't forget on me you can rely
no no no no
i will help help you on your way
no no no no
i will be with you every day
no no no no
i will be with you every day

I believe that this song is a tribute to Geri Haliwell's departure of the group. The other girls wishing her well, and knowing that they will always be apart of eachother.

i think it's pretty. of course, spice girls was a huge part of my generation and i was quite the follower. i loved them, and i still think the idea of them was great, i mean what other group had future female advocates stating "girl power" at the young age of 6? exactaly.

I thought the line was "I know you're gone, you said you're gone, but I can still feel you here." I got that from the inside cover of the single.

I love that part. It really represents me and my friends. I have 5 friends so we were a group of six. In the 9th grade, we all got together like a group. People said when we where walking down the halls together we looked like a gang. Lynn was the most talkative out of all of us. She could talk all day, I promise. Neka was the shortest one and Lee was a few inches above her. They wern't related but they acted like twin sisters. They could just look at each other and bust out laughing about nothing. Brandy was the fun one. She would laugh about something that the rest of us had not seen and was sarcastic and cool. Jessy was also cool. She was the quite one out of all of us. We looked after her like a sister. I guess you could say I was the unique one. I'm not trying to put my self on top though. If I was quite for too long, they always thought I was up to something. I would think of all these weird things and say weird things. I was always thinking about something. I was the kid. Now were in 10th grade and going to different schools. Some of us still see each other but it's not the same. I lost touch with at least 3 of them. It's funny how during the time your with friends or family you never think they would go away, but when they do you miss them like crazy. Then other friends who weren't in my class group who were my friends, and my class its self I miss. I think thats what this song is about. Seperating from friends who you love like sisters and brothers, but feeling throughout your life, they are still there.

i heard they actually wrote this song before geri left...and that even tho it sounded as a tribute to Geri, it wasn't. I took it as being a song about a lost lover, or someone who had died...but i think i like it better as a tribute to geri anyway

This song is so pretty. Even though everyone thinks it's a song to Geri, it isn't entirely. The girl's started writing before she left. Then in '98 when she announced her departure, they finished it.

It's such a good song. I hold it dear to my heart, about 6 months to a year before this song came out my best friend moved away... like from Illinois to Texas. And this song helped me heal. Everytime I hear it I want to cry. It brings me back to they days when me and her would just hang out. I regret not keeping in touch with her for the longest time, but recently we found eachother. It was really sweet talking with her.

_emmie_, Spice Girl's also got me into music! Go us!

forelsket seg, i totally agree with you, when you said, "what other group had 6 year old's into girl power". lol, I was one of those 6 year olds.

-linds "goodbye my friend, i know you're gone, you said you're gone, but i can still feel you here."
