I was born in ashes of molten hatred
Raised by demons in abodes of the dead
The Reaper's cythe I fall upon to light my path
Wrecked by mangled wounds of life
I have become, become the resurrection of the Evil one
'Y know that I don't fucking care if I live or die

I need a bishop preaching fire to get away with my sins
I despise everything I see so I don't give a fuck if ya hate me

Ain't got respect for humanity
Never lived or wanted immortality
The Reaper's shadow I fall upon to obscure my path
Every day I'm being battered up until I bleed
You motherfuckas just leave me be
Ya could never give me cure for the pain I feelinside

Led by the Reaper I walk in the night
Show me the way to yer kingdom come

I belive in Armageddon,
I've been baptised in alcohol
I'm enbodyment of Antichrist
I'm living for my own demis

*I was born in ashes of molten hatred
Raised by demons in abodes of the dead
The Reaper's cythe I fall upon to light my path
Wrecked by mangled wounds of life
I have become, become the resurrection of the Evil one
'Y know that I don't fucking care if I live or die

General Comment:Stop mentioning Metallica for fucks sake!!! This is about Children of Bodom's Hate Me! And no, i dont know the meaning to the song. Thats why i came here, but all i got was "no, metallica is the best band ever!" and "metallica sucks!". *sigh*

General Comment:errrr, the song may be about him being who he is, and what he's about...and doesn't need approval from anyone but the reaper...I think

metallica's great, I respect them for laying down the foundation for metal bands to come. megadeth was one of the first political bands to say "hey, we may be headbangers, but we're not fucking stupid". In Flames, personally, one of my favorite, original bands...great vocals, and as far as I've heard, no solos...very risky, yet, it doesn't kill the music, for mamy bands that have soloists...are only great for their solos...nothing else

General Comment:funny how people keep bringing up metallica. they're clearly not the best, especially when compared to iron maiden, in flames, CoB, Megadeath.

and this song is pretty good :)

General Comment:OMG, what the fuck did I write back in those days? It's so clear it's not about the Bodom murders!
This sounds more or less as satanic or atheistic thoughts.
It sounds like he just wants christians to let him be.

But... I'm really not sure if that is the meaning of the song.

"I need a bishop preaching fire to get away with my sins
I despise everything I see so I don't give a fuck if ya hate me"

I don't see what this means. The first line SOUNDS like he rather chooses "satan" to get away with his sins instead of being depressed because of his "sins".

But in the christian religion you're supposed to love even you enemies, so maybe this song isn't "against" christians or something.
Otherwise it sounds like he is just depressed and drinks a lots of alcohol and he hates everyone.

General Comment:in my opinion this song has nothing to do with the bodom murders. for me this line makes that clear:
"Every day I'm being battered up until I bleed
You motherfuckas just leave me be"
in some interview i read that there were people following alexi wanting to kill him or something

Hate Me! = best bodom song ever!

General Comment:Well... it could be something about what enigmatic elegy said, but it's also about the murders at Lake Bodom in Finland in 1960 (note that the most COB songs are about those murders).
And I think it's also about Nils Gustafsson's thoughts. Couse Nils was the only survivor of the Lake Bodom murders, at later the polic arrested him because they suspected him for the murder of his friends at Lake Bodom.

Later, they let him go because the DNA proofed that he wasn't the murder. "You motha' fuckas just leave me be" I think it's about when the cops are arresting him or something like that.

General Comment:Urb4n has a point. Why the fuck should any of you have a place or any right to go off on a tagent and claim Metallica is the best Metal band out there? If you believe so, then YOU go somewhere alse and babble all you want about such a great band. Anyway, this song is one of the best and there's no doubt about it.

The meaning of the song to me is that the dominant religious beliefs have gone too far for this person to handle and the lyrics expresses his point of view of how people commit heinous and deadly acts just to get away with it which in turn they plead for no sins to religion as a way to save them.

So the man, Alexi Laiho, is trying to be upfront and real with everyone. He just really doesn't or could even give a fuck if you hate him. :)
