Hey Eagle boy, whats up with you? You've said that exact same thing in half the Stones songs here. Anyway, I can't believe no ones said it yet. It's about sexual frustration, which is funny that gforce lost his virginity to this song since its about how he cant get laid.

this verse seems to bring up the anti-capitalist notion that possession and consumption do not equal true satisfaction- since to possess is simply to own/have, and things to be consumed are temporary.

I think the third verse is about his losing streak with the opposite sex. I think the second verse is about how people uselessly compare themselves to others for nothing more than cosmetic reasons. I agree with wegot5eyes on the first verse, consumption doesn't yield satisfaction. Only you can bring yourself satisfaction...in my mind, that's the aim of this song. Classic piece of work but it's not the best song of all time. That would be Yawning and Snarling by The Tragically Hip.

alright this song has nothing to do with sex hes actually saying that he cant get no satisfaction because advertisers are always telling him that what he has isnt enough and that what he could buy is better and no matter how much he buys no matter what cigarettes he smokes it isnt enough he cant get no satisfaction

go find the otis redding cover of this one to hear how Keith REALLY wanted it to sound--the version we all know and love was really just a demo, but Andrew Oldham convinced them it was great as-is, no horns needed :)....and btw, its ALL about sex, like most stones songs...
