Because the world is round, it turns me on
Because the world is round

Because the wind is high, it blows my mind
Because the wind is high

Love is old, love is new
Love is all, love is you

Because the sky is blue, it makes me cry
Because the sky is blue

General Comment:maybe because it's him singing it - but i can hear it in my brain when elliott sings it. it burrows and i can't help but feel sad at him not being here . do people ever get over this? im sure they do but how? how do people accept they won't ever see someone ever again?

General Comment:i loved the multitracking in this song. no one can harmonize with Elliott quite like himself. this cover was definitely better than the one in Across the Universe

General Comment:I am an incredibly huge beatles fan....and used to hate covers...

But recently I have been researching different artists and their covers of beatles songs in order to have a wider range of what is out there...

This cover was incredible. I loved it. SO much. It is so relaxing, so happy...it sends chills down my spines. The acapella....everything. I love it. Incredible ending for American Beauty, and incredible movie....

Another great cover I think is many of the songs on the across the universe soundtrack. Before I heard it, I was angry that anyone had tried to perfect what was already perfect. But I found that many of those covers were actually very good. My personal favorites were Blackbird, and Hapiness is a warm gun. Just incredible.

Even though the beatles cannot be beaten, they are the best, since they obviously cannot do music anymore, and just paul mcartney just doesn't cut it, some of these covers have been exceptionally wonderful. I am very greatful for people who have enough tallent to pull that off. Elliott Smith sure did.

General Comment:Actually, the Moonlight Sonata is in 4/4. It's just that it's famous melody's rhythm is based in triplets, which is why someone might think 3/4, or rather, 3/8. Anyway, just though I'd make a correction. Great cover though.

General Comment:It's not exactly Moonlight Sonata backwards. It was inspired by it.

It's in a different meter for one thing. 4/4 as opposed to 3/4.

General Comment:I would agree, Elliott Smith pulled off this cover - Definitely one of the bests.

I am a huge Beatles fans, and covering their songs is just sacreligous, but I trust Elliott and I think I am right to do so.

Just tonight I was at a bar where karaoke was happening and I was disgusted with the amount of Beatles songs available for people to sing. Just plain wrong.
