    General Comment:the chil pep's are probably one of my favorite bands, and these seriously funky songs are the reason behind it. Mothers Milk is an AMAZING album! may be my favorite. youll never get styley like this anywhere else! id suggest picking up all these old albums and listening to them straight through, its so much fun. i could be in any kinda of mood and still dance around when these tracks come on.

    General Comment:Aside from the more obvious references to other bands, there's also a couple of references to Mike Watt, the bass player from Minutemen, fIREHOSE, and currently of The Stooges. "He'll tell you in a minute about the men he knows" = a reference to Minutemen. And of course, fIREHOUSE is a given. "We take it from the trees and the mighty Watts towers" could also be a reference.

    Red Hot Chili Peppers also dedicated Blood Sugar Sex Magik to Mike Watt.

    General Comment:I'm pretty sure this song is about the red hot's and their friends, and that they all like to have fun on stage. The 3 songs are: Bonin in the Boneyard by Fishbone, Try by Thelonious Monster, and White Girl By X...and there's also a fIREHOSE nod in there.

    General Comment:who cares what album you guys started with, as long as you like what you hear it doesn't matter. I love all the Chili Peppers CD's. This song is about having good times with friends.

    General Comment:this is such a great opening to mothers milk, and i agree with u jordywordy, that would have been great!!! i started with greatest hits (yes a late starter!!!) then went to ohm, then btw, then bssm, what hits, cali, out in LA now mm. though i also got hyde park sumwhere in that lot... lol
