Someone spilled blood many years ago
Someone spilled blood but do you know
That from the backwoods
Where the Chuck Berry's grow
Come your long tall
Daddies of a rock and roll

Take me to your backwoods now
Take me to your backwoods now

Spinning' down from the clouds
Like a tornado
Spinnin' out of control
Like a psychedelic soul
With a rhythm hittin' harder
Than Larry Holmes
Come your long tall
Daddies of rock and roll

Take me to your backwoods now
Take me to your backwoods now

Mr. Uplift Mofo - my man Bo Diddley
Hit sippin' a bottle of nickle ripple
Play the lickity split finger licking licks
For all you wicked city slick chicks

And all you nitty gritty hick
We'll make your nipples ripple
Make you wanna dip your dipple
Make you wanna soak your hickory stick
Because my man has a grip on it
And I do mean on it
Which brings to mind
A very sinister minister kind of guy
A man named Little Richard
Born to make them bitches stir
That's right he'll make the sweet substance drip
From the middle of your hillbilly lips
And like the farmer milk his cow
The Howling Wolf will howl
And since times does allow
You all can

Take me to your backwoods now
Take me to your backwoods now
Take me to your backwoods now

General Comment:This song is about taking it all back to the roots of rock and roll, the unspoilt places where those great names come from. Apparently, it was inspired by some fat-cat producer who wanted them to just play straight forward, Chuck Berry style rock and roll, to take it back to their roots. Obviously, they weren't keen on that idea, and he never became their producer, but this song is the love-child of the meeting.

General Comment:As far as I know, the term "Backwoods" means a place that's out of the way...middle of nowhere if you will. I think it's just gettin' the message across that most of the big artists - Chuck Berry, Little Richard - are from the less talked about, out of the way places; this is my best guess, I haven't actually been bothered to look up where the mentioned artists are from, but feel free to ;)

General Comment:nirvana and chili pepers are uncomparable dude. two of the very best at two very different genres. they didnt play come as you are to mock nirvana they respected nirvanas music and the bands were both good friends. i think they toured together and thats why tearjerker is a tribute to cobain.

General Comment:One of my favorite songs by the Chili Peppers. It's obviously about the roots of Rock 'N' Roll, as butterfleafrog said.
