    General Comment:i believe this song is about him leaving her to go into the army, it's the first thing that came to my mind when i heard these lyrics, and especially when i read them. i feel like "the one thing i have to do", or he has to do is serve the country, and that he will not be home to her for quite a while because of this. that's my opinion...

    General Comment:Well my name is amy lulz and my boy is going off to the army tomorrow, so obviously i cry when i hear it. i made him a soundtract to listen to and at the end of this song i recorded myself saying i don't hate you and put it in to the song.

    General Comment:why do you people want your name to be amy? It doesn't matter that that was the name used in the song, your name makes no difference in your life. You're a person and that's all that matters, amy is a name, a represents you, it shouldn't be that you represent her (a fictional character) for all you know at least

    Not true. This just happened to me. I'm Amy, but I'm a guy. And sometimes things get so hard with someone that you love so much. You don't want to hurt them so you drag it out and it gets worse and worse. Then one day someone comes and sweeps them off their feet, or they realize that they need to find themself or they just can't do it any longer and the decision is made to split. He still loves her and deep in his heart he doesn't want to do this to her but it's necessary. Hopefully "Amy" can be strong and not blame herself and move on without voiding him out of her life. But that takes a lot of strength and maturity to accomplish. And hopefully by the time he comes around "Amy" is still there. And right now I'm "Amy", and I'm trying to be strong. Because she was the most beautiful thing to ever bless my eyes. And I would wait an eternity for her to return.
