Cubscouts are screaming,
Needing icescreaming and all the pleasures of June
I'm in a parked car.
Flowers seem friendly and people in hall ways feel walls.
Now it is night time maybe we?e cruising avoiding the anti-cruise.
Oh I don't really know where we are.
If things get real promise to take me somewhere else,
By the time fear takes me over will we still be rolling and feeling oblivion.
Once in a while the lie in the laughter can burn through a hole in my ears,
Like a man with glasses catching a sunbeam and burning the skin of a kid.
Hypereal fragments disturbing the stagnants of almighty fear.
Well I'll just go under the water.
If things get real promise to take me somewhere else,
By the time fear takes me over will we still be rolling and feeling oblivion.
So don't leave me here on my own.
So don't leave me here on my own.
If things get real promise to take me somewhere else,
By the time fear takes me over will we still be rolling and feeling oblivion

General Comment:Damn those lucky kids that just got out of school and have a whole worry-free summer ahead of them. Definitely an "ignorance is bliss" sort of viewpoint, but I think it's more about having someone else there to take the wheel while you cope though.

Song Meaning:I keep coming back to this tune since it's release in 2001, but I've never really tried to make sense of it. Now that I look at it, it looks like it's about being high in one form or another. Strange that I didn't see it before with a title like "Feeling Oblivion". The term "rolling" could either be referring to taking ecstasy or driving/cruising. Maybe they meant both as they refer to cruising earlier in the tune. "Flowers seem friendly", "fear takes me over", "I don't really know where we are" all seem suspiciously drug related to me.

General Comment:I think it is about having the perfect summer just inside your head, doing whatever you want and nothing matters.
'If things get real promise to take me somewhere else,'
As soon as things get too real take me somewhere I can be in my own head again.
    That's what I think :)

General Comment:this song pretty much reminds of the first and last time i tried X."If things get real promise to take me somewhere else,
By the time fear takes me over will we still be rolling & feeling oblivion. "

General Comment:It's a portrait of summer, of driving around with someone you rather like.. Perhaps trying to escape self-consciousness? Maybe by getting drunk. "oblivion". Dunno but it makes me feel so warm to hear the first minute, always reminds me of the summer I first heard the album. (Well-timed release).
