An extra ordinary guy

Can never have an ordinary day

He might live the long goodbye

But that is not for me to say

I dig his friends I dig his shoes

He is just a child with nothing to lose

In their minds their minds

But I'll have my way

In my own time

I'll have my say

My star will shine

'cause you see me I got my Magic Pie.

Think of me yeah that was me I was that passer by

I've been and now I've gone

There are but a thousand days preparing for a thousand years,

Many minds to educate the people who have disappeared

D'you dig my friends? D'you dig my shoes?

I am like a child with nothing to lose

My mind

General Comment:Personally I don't like this song at all. Music is pretty lame, production is drug filled self obsession, like that whole album. ALL the songs on that album are a) too long and b) WAY too much layering and production. Magic Pie is the typical example. I don't think it would make any other Oasis album at all. Way too long, lame chorus, the most basic of overused chords. Anyway that's just my opinion obviously, this board should be a critique not just a love-fest.

My Interpretation:I didnt realy notice this song at first until a caught onto the meaning. It is about himself. It is one of Noels first reterspective songs looking back from the view point of having money, fame (An extraordinary guy can never have an ordinary day) success (My star will shine) and drugs (I am like a child with nothing to lose but my mind).

I think the 'Magic Pie' is his song writing ability.

General Comment:Be here now was way too long. Great songs. But the length could have been reduced. This song is great, I was only saying the chorus could be more distinctive and it could be shorter!!!!! Christ almighty who pissed in josh's cheerios? Retard!!!

My Opinion:wow you guys are so fuckin picky. "wahh i dont like the 7 minutes i want 4 minutes wahh. i dont like the chorus, *cry* *wahh* this sounds out of place, *wahhh*"
this isn't your song and it wasn't written specifically for you. this is art, written and performed by oasis, for themselves, how they felt, what they wanted to express, etc. respect that and respect the great song that it is. this is real, true, genuine music unlike most of the shit that gets played today.
fuckheads like you are the reason Noel and Liam have insulted and said nasty things about Americans in general, because you're picky, ignorant, and full of "rubbish". as an American myself, it's people like you that make the rest of us look bad.
have some respect and appreciate the great music that oasis blesses us with.

General Comment:The verses are amazing. The lyrics are so good. "many minds to educate the people who have disapeared" i wish the chorus was a bit more distinctive. I love the opening line. Noel sings it so well. I wish it wasnt 7 minutes long. 4 would have been fine

One Love...as much as I like Oasis, Noel is one of the worst lyricists around (cuz after all you're my wonderwall....ugh!)

General Comment:This song is incredible! It has an amazing power behind it, it just feels good to listen to. Perhaps my favourate from Be Here Now - perhaps one of my favourate Oasis tracks ever. One of the best for a massive alcohol fueled party, beer, sun and BBQ's. But that's what Oasis are all about, isn't it.
