Lyrics for Return To Innocence as interpreted by Pet_Virus

Return To Innocence Lyrics
That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence.

Love
Devotion
Feeling
Emotion

Love
Devotion
Feeling
Emotion

Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence.

If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny.

Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence.

That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence.

Don't care what people say
Follow just your own way
Follow just your own way
Don't give up, don't give up
To return, to return to innocence.

If you want then laugh
If you must then cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny.

It means just being yourself, not feling inhibited and living your life to the fullest. Just like when you were a baby and you didn't care how the world looks at you.

what does this song mean to me? wow, thats a good question - i think that its saying people should return to the way they were before new technology. when i think of this, i think of how the earth wouldve looked before man ruined it with skyscrapers, and how much less complications there were, and how much more efficient humans were, its a beautiful song.

to me, this song is an invitation to forget all the hassles of adulthood and remember what it ws like to be a child; regain that "innocence" and wonder of it all. see the world and everybody in it with open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart. and to leap into love without looking!

this song has been my favourite ever since i was 8. for me it symbolises rebirth, being born again, not in a religious sense, but more of a: the troubles are over, now live is calm. breathe as life as just began. forget the worries, just be happy to be here.

That returning to who you are IS returning to innocence. Innocence is just the boot-up state for a human body - I.e. who you are, before you start accepting programming - as in having experiences, since for humans they're kind of the same thing ;-) - in the real world.

re: the previous poster -

There's kind of a bitter irony to hearing this song on Miss America, since that show strikes me as often being about being what you aren't.

I love this song. It says everything I believe in. Be Yoruself, noone else. Don't care about what the 'IN' crowd says. And my most important moral: If You Believe, It will be.

This song reminds me of my mother and I remember this being her favorite song when I was younger. I associate those days with happiness and I cry everytime I hear this song. It has an incredible 'feel' to it. Absolutely beautiful song.

Romans 14:23 says, "Whatever does not proceed from faith is sin." This is a radical indictment of all natural "virtue" that does not flow from a heart humbly relying on God's grace.

Romans 8:7-8 says, "For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the flesh cannot please God."

Ephesians 2:1 says that we Christians were all once "dead in trespasses and sins." The point of deadness is that we were incapable of any life with God. Our hearts were like a stone toward God (Ephesians 4:18; Ezekiel 36:26). Our hearts were blind and incapable of seeing the glory of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 4:4-6). We were totally unable to reform ourselves.

In summary, total depravity means that our rebellion against God is total, everything we do in this rebellion is sin, our inability to submit to God or reform ourselves is total, and we are therefore totally deserving of eternal punishment.
It is hard to exaggerate the importance of admitting our condition to be this bad. If we think of ourselves as basically good or even less than totally at odds with God, our grasp of the work of God in redemption will be defective.

this song reminds me of free willy, which in turn reminds me of when i was younger, and in return again reminds me of wearing boys clothes and listening to my cd player 24 hours a day, my 12th birthday, and wondering if i'd ever make it to my 21st birthday.

i've since reached things i never expected to reach, and this song just reminds me of all the uncertainty i held when i was younger. it's comforting to know that things i feared would never happen actually have happened. i'm reminded that things that seem impossible in the present may not be so far fetched after all...and i have renewed hope in things. in life. in myself.

so i guess you could say this song returns me to innocence. =P

We humans have made our life more and more complex. The solutions for these complexities are relatively more complex. Hence, its a vicious circle.

This song urges its listeners to return to the simplicities of life. Remain content with what you are and the way you are.

I would just like to add that, strive for achieving something but simultaneously remain content with your actual self.

To me, it's about doing the right thing.
When i left my job cuz they were doing some things I found disgusting and downright immoral, when everyone around shrugged and said "this is the way industry works" and my friends insisted "wherever u go u will find similar practices" and i was being mocked by my bosses as being a phoney hypocrite - the job was pretty good and even my parents felt the reason for my leaving was not reason-enuf, well this song really gave courage.

dont care what people say
just follow ur own way

I've learnt one thing - Follow your Heart.
(You might or might not be successful, but u sure will be happy.)

Being featured as the opening track to Pure Moods and in the final scene of Man of the House, it is safe to say that this is the greatest song ever.

What makes me wonder about this song is the Native American chanting in this song. What tribe(s) is it from?

A very beautiful song full of emotions particularly sadness, melancholy and a genuine sense of nostalgia for one's childhood, which for most of us is the best time in our life as we are carefree and have no troubles.

this song tends to capture the human life in general.. it touches upon things that all living things feel one way or the other from our birth to our death.. also i like how it tries to get this one message accross.. this message is the simple fact that we start of innocent and pure.. we start to grow up and somewhere along the way we turn cold in a way and we loose that purity.. then as we age and come to the old age we are getting back to that start- we are getting back to that purity and inocence.. really wicked song.. it also tries to give some very important tips on how to live your life. more or less..

This song is about more than being yourself if only on a spiritual level. It's talking about going back to the way the world used to be, before it was defiled by "civilization". It's a return to innocence.
