I'm a rolling thunder, a pounding rain
I'm comin' on like a hurricane
White lightning, flashing across the sky
You're only young but you're gonna die

I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

Chorus
Hell's Bells
Yeah, Hell's Bells
You got me ringing Hell's Bells
My temperature's high, Hell's Bells

I'll give you black sensations up and down your spine
If you're into evil you're a friend of mine
See my white light flashing as I split the night
'Cause if good's on the left, then I'm stickin' to the right

I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's puttin' up a fight
I got my bell, I'm gonna take you to hell
I'm gonna get you, Satan get you

Chorus

yeow
Hell's Bells, Satan's comin' to you
Hell's Bells, he's ringing them now
Hell's Bells, the temperature's high
Hell's Bells, across the sky
Hell's Bells, they're takin' you down
Hell's Bells, they're draggin' you around
Hell's Bells, gonna split the night
Hell's Bells, there's no way to fight, yeah

Ow, ow, ow, ow

Hell's Bells

General Comment:"I don't believe in God or Heaven or Hell. But something happened. We had these little rooms like cells with a bed and a toilet, no TVs. I had this big sheet of paper and I had to write some words. I was going, 'oh fuck.' and I'll never forget, I just went (scribbles frantically as if his hand is possessed). I started writing and never stopped. And that was it, Hells Bells. I had a bottle of whisky and I went [generous gulps]. I kept the light on all night, man." -Brian Johnson, Q Magazine, Nov. 2008

I've also heard their apartment in Jamaica got hit with a bad thunderstorm while he wrote as well.

General Comment:Christ knocks at the door. Bells summon demons & devils.

Like...Someone's knocking at the door, somebody's ringing the bell. - McCartney

The Division Bell (Pink Floyd) - will separate Sheep at the harvest.

    There's more...update later.

General Comment:They wanted to use a bell from a church in England. Well as Providence will have it, that church burnt down and ruined the bell. They had to sample a bell sound and slow that sound down to half speed to get the dirge sound of the bell on the album.

General Comment:Back in the old days nocturnal thunderstorms were mythologized into The Wild Hunt. One version of the Wild Hunt had it as the Devil hunting for souls. This idea seems to match the lyrics of this song.

General Comment:i def think its bein narrated by the grim reaper (death),the first part I'm a rolling thunder, a pounding rain,I'm comin' on like a hurricane sounds like some sort of force, death is like a force an unstoppable force.i dont think it could be narrated by satan,it's gotta be about dieing and then going to hell since it says im gonna get ya satan get ya.maybe the lads knew some stuff about bon and thought he went to hell.i hope not i love that man R.I.P Bon

General Comment:There is no doubth about it ...the song makes reference to Operation Rolling Thunder: an attack by the U.S. on North Vietnam. Could it be.... Completly agree with that,,

General Comment:The "thunderstorm in Jamaica" story is correct, but I didn't know it at the time.

I had always assumed it was an expression of how truly powerful and evil a terrible black severe thunderstorm or hurricane or tornado is. It's almost like Satan himself is up there, throwing lightning, laughing at you. Keep in mind, the energy released by an AVERAGE thunderstorm is roughly equal to a 20-kiloton nuclear warhead. When I saw AC/DC live, they definitely had big fans to create wind and a huge strobe for the lightning during this song.

    "I'm rollin' thunder, pouring rain"
"See my white light flashing as I split the night"
"Hell's Bells, Satan's comin' to you
Hell's Bells, he's ringing them now
    Hell's Bells, the temperature's high
    Hell's Bells, across the sky"

Listen to this song on top volume the next time you get a strong thunderstorm and tell me I'm wrong.

General Comment:Why are you people trying to find some deep meaning behind these lyrics. It's AC/DC, there is no deep meaning. AC/DC are a no nonsense hard rocking ass kicking band.

General Comment:I think its a reference to Datura. A hallucinogen found in bell shaped flowers referred to often as "Hells Bells" or "Satan's Trumpet". It's brewed in a tea. It used to be used in South America as poison. It has the highest "train wreck" rating then anything other drug out there. More people overdose on this tea then Exstacy. Effects last up to 2 days. Makes you unable to distiinguish reality from dream. It's crazy shit. Also called Jimson Tea. Look it up.
