Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I'm on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, payed my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land

I'm on the highway to hell
(Don't stop me)

And I'm going down, all the way down
I'm on the highway to hell

General Comment:The soundtrack to my life...My friends and I all joke that we are truly on our way to hell. Its a great song to work out to. Although, to me its more of a song to get me ready to go out on the town with my friends.

General Comment:My 5 year old daughter LOVES this song.
She plays with her Pretty Pony set and pretends that flower fairies are singing to all of her pink horsies whenever it plays.
    She also loves Slayer.
It makes her want to get out her crayons and color in her Dora the Explorer coloring book.

General Comment:Look the song means different things to different people and the song was probably most accurately originally attributed to the "Canning Highway" in Western Australia from Bon's point of view, where this is that highways nickname. Another Aussie bloke put it this way - quote "Highway to Hell was the nickname for the Canning Highway in Australia. It runs from where lead singer Bon Scott lived in Fremantle and ends at a pub/bar called The Raffles, which was a big Rock 'n Roll drinking hole in the '70s. As Canning Highway gets close to the pub, it dips down into a steep decline: "No stop signs... speed limits... nobody gonna slow me down." So many people where killed by driving fast over that intersection at the top of the hill on the way for a good night out, that it was called the highway to hell, so when Bon was saying "I'm on the highway to hell" it meant that he was doing the nightly or weekly pilgrimage down Canning Highway to The Raffles bar to rock and drink with his mates: "Ain't nothing I would rather do. Going down, party time, my friends are gonna be there too.". Others attribute it to Brian Johnson's feelings, but these are probably accurate from his personal point of view separate from Bon's. quote "Vocalist Brian Johnson explained to The Metro October 15, 2009: "It was written about being on the bus on the road where it takes forever to get from Melbourne or Sydney to Perth across the Nullarbor Plain. When the Sun's setting in the west and you're driving across it, it is like a fire ball. There is nothing to do, except have a quick one off the wrist or a game of cards, so that's where Bon came up with the lyrics." - You decide. Personally I like the first one, and it seems to fit and besides, Brian's another era from Bon Scott, so it'll have a different meaning from a different point of view.

My Opinion:It does seem like it signifies AC/DC's journey and what they had to go through to make it to where they got to be and it seems like they didn't give a damn about what people told them they could or could not do because they believed that life has no limits, whatever they wanted out of life they could achieve it and they did. To me it also has like this careless attitude, as if they didn't take life seriously and lived by their own rules...just living life to the fullest and making it worth while.

General Comment:ok everyone.. its not about America. Brian Johnson said himself it was about the Time when they were doing a tour of Australia and they had to drive though the outback on a bus with no fan or a/c. They were sweating and it was hell cause the Outback is literally uninhabitable.

My Opinion:Marilyn Manson is a phony. HTH is the badman's anthem about his real destination.. and he is not afraid of it. He would embrace hell bravely(helped, of course, by several shots of whisky) rather than take the teetotaller route to heaven. A drunk's voice is slurred and the words that Bon sang on HTH was maybe different from what was written down officially on paper. Hear carefully. It is "hey satan, he may choose the way to run a rockin band". But hey, I may be wrong. The liquid-gold in my bottle is fast dissappearing as i put this down. A drunk says things badly and he probably hears things badly too!!
