if you feel alive
in a darkened room
do you know the name
of your solitude
if you ain't got the answer
if you don't know the truth
if you want the power
then let it flow through

would you let it go
would let it go
they cannot end this morning
of my life

show me
how the gods kill

if you feel alive
if you got no fear
do you know the name
of the one you seek
if you want the answer
if you want the truth
look inside your empty soul
there
you'll find the noose

would you let it go
would you let it go
they cannot end this morning
of my life

show me
how the gods kill

General Comment:Steffan Chirazi - Let's try another. "How the Gods Kill" seems to concern a search for power and immortality, and how such things can become attainable.

Glenn Danzig - "Okay, basically this one was a search for knowledge and an
understanding of oneself. Once again you've given the song your own
identity, which is how it should be. Very few people understand that I do
these songs so that they will take on a personal feeling for people. That's
why the videos are hard to do, because I don't want to give people the story.
When I direct the videos, I think they come across the same way the songs do-
people can make of them what they want. When another director does a video,
it becomes what they see of the song."

General Comment:Mr Martini is more than likely correct, makes sense, and becasue I know Glenn and I know how much he reads, and studied on things like Gods and religions, and Mythical stories too, that it probably the case here.

General Comment:It means that if the darker dreams of the spiritual realm make you thump? If traveling the nights solo seems not only more comfortable but natural? Don't let others look at you like your only purpose is to die. Creep inside yourself when anger is boiling, calm the rage, once channeled emotions leave and feeling inside die :then you can kill as indescriminatally as the gods!'

My Interpretation:The answer to happiness is sucide (the lack of feeling). You know it deep inside yourself. The Gods kill with anguish.

General Comment:It's about Satan, and allowing his power to get you through tough times. Do you know the truth? The power of darkness will lead you through tough times. The parts about ending the mourning of his life refer to Jesus. People are still mourning his loss...and in reality all his death did was show how cruel god is in that he can murder his own child. That, my friends, is how the gods kill.

General Comment:You might benefit from studying occult related issues a bit more. This is song is about attaining the highest level of enlightenment through realization of your true self (Crowley referred to it as having a conversation with your Holy guardian angel). How the God's Kill (more specifically the phrase "Show me how the gods kill" might represent the attainment of true enlightenment (in this case through a left hand path ). Imagine someone asking "Show me how to ride a motorcycle" and then once they have they themselves are a motorcycle rider.

General Comment:As far as what cesare relates to about Gods, to me it means that Gods are beings that are superior, sometimes almost perfect, therefore they can kill suffering, pain, or anything bad easily.

General Comment:Well, first of all, this song is quite simple in the way it´s worded, yet it´s very deep in meaning. It seems to be gloatful, but at the same time inspiring, because it´s about how one feels he is living in his own darkness (lost), but wants to know the truth, and yet all that truth and power lies inside himself, as in "looking inside his empty soul" where the noose of all the undiscovered fears and insecurities lies; that prison which needs to be worked through, and let go. Hence "would you let it go" stands as both a question and a comment, and "show me How the Gods Kill" stands for the yearning to have all these doubts removed instantly, which is unrealistic. This song is truly about the quest for personal power and self-knowledge. Danzig probably related to this as well when writing the song.

General Comment:i dont think this song has anything to do with suicide... it has to do with how religion (dare i say christianity) kills your soul
if you think you know the answers, look inside your soul and there youll find the noose... mourning of my life...
hell, the name of the song makes it fairly clear....
well i just checked the lyrics again and i think theyre wrong... i think the second verse he says "if you know the answers..if you know the truth" it follows that he would say that... for me....

General Comment:I think when he says "God" in the song, he refers to people which have the ability to kill themselves or others. Because he feels the need to kill people is so unnatural as it leads to regression, he finds the people who can kill others, despite what they naturally feel is wrong or right, are to him Godlike.
