97' Bonnie And Clyde Lyrics
Just the two of us.. (8X)

[Eminem]
Baby your da-da loves you (hey)
And I'ma always be here for you (hey) no matter what happens
You're all I got in this world
I would never give you up for nothin
Nobody in this world is ever gonna keep you from me
I love you

C'mon Hai-Hai, we goin to the beach
Grab a couple of toys and let da-da strap you in the car seat
Oh where's mama? She's takin a little nap in the trunk
Oh that smell (whew!) da-da musta runned over a skunk
Now I know what you're thinkin - it's kind of late to go swimmin
But you know your mama, she's one of those type of women
that do crazy things, and if she don't get her way, she'll throw a fit
Don't play with da-da's toy knife, honey, let go of it (no!)
And don't look so upset, why you actin bashful?
Don't you wanna help da-da build a sand castle? (yeah!)
And mama said she wants to show how far she can float
And don't worry about that little boo-boo on her throat
It's just a little scratch - it don't hurt, her was eatin
dinner while you were sweepin and spilled ketchup on her shirt
Mama's messy isn't she? We'll let her wash off in the water
and me and you can pway by ourselves, can't we?

Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!

See honey.. there's a place called heaven and a place called hell
A place called prison and a place called jail
And da-da's probably on his way to all of em except one
Cause mama's got a new husband and a stepson
And you don't want a brother do ya? (Nah)
Maybe when you're old enough to understand a little better
I'll explain it to ya
But for now we'll just say mama was real real bad
She was bein mean to dad and made him real real mad
But I still feel sad that I put her on time-out
Sit back in your chair honey, quit tryin to climb out (WAHH!)
I told you it's okay HaiHai, wanna ba-ba?
Take a night-night? Nan-a-boo, goo-goo ga-ga?
Her make goo-goo ca-ca? Da-da change your dia-dee
Clean the baby up so her can take a nighty-nighty
Your dad'll wake her up as soon as we get to the water
Ninety-seven Bonnie and Clyde, me and my daughter

Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!

Wake up sweepy head we're here, before we pway
we're gonna take mama for a wittle walk along the pier
Baby, don't cry honey, don't get the wrong idea
Mama's too sweepy to hear you screamin in her ear (ma-maa!)
That's why you can't get her to wake, but don't worry
Da-da made a nice bed for mommy at the bottom of the lake
Here, you wanna help da-da tie a rope around this rock? (yeah!)
We'll tie it to her footsie then we'll roll her off the dock
Ready now, here we go, on the count of free..
One.. two.. free.. WHEEEEEE! (whoooooshhhhh)
There goes mama, spwashin in the wa-ta
No more fightin wit dad, no more restraining order
No more step-da-da, no more new brother
Blow her kisses bye-bye, tell mama you love her (mommy!)
Now we'll go play in the sand, build a castle and junk
But first, just help dad with two more things out the trunk

Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
And when we ride!
Just the two of us.. (2X)
Just you and I!

Just the two of us.. (4X)

[Eminem]
Just me and you baby
is all we need in this world
Just me and you
Your da-da will always be there for you
Your da-da's always gonna love you
Remember that
If you ever need me I will always be here for you
If you ever need anything, just ASK
Da-da will be right there
Your da-da loves you
I love you baby

Bornin91, I would think that the other two things in the trunk are his ex's new husband and stepson.
I'm not really an Eminem fan, I just like a song here and there.
I heard the Tori Amos cover of this song first, and I decided to listen to the original version. The difference is striking, despite the lyrics being the same, aside from the partial omission of the chorus and his sort of talking at the end.
It’s weird that when you hear Eminem singing it, you can empathize with what he’s feeling (he being in character or whatever). You can understand how angry he is - past the point of reason, and that he adores his daughter.
Then when you hear Tori’s cover, purportedly sung from the point of view of the dead woman in the trunk, it has a decidedly disturbing feel to it. Apparently a lot of her fans have trouble listening to it at all.
This song is great, because it’s just fascinating how two people can take the same words and make them mean entirely different things.

Hey, ATTN: everyone who's been bitching about the violence in this song:

Eminem writes these kinds of songs as a way to release anger.
He records them to piss people like you off, so thank you for encouraging one of the finest examples of irony in the music business today.

Anyway... this was the first Eminem song I'd ever heard. I was really young at the time - maybe sixth grade or so, and even though it weirded the shit out of me, I was hooked. He's got a lot of talent, regardless of how offensive the lyrics are.

I retract my statement about country I made a couple of years. It looks like despite his change to rock, blind rockstar is still a dumbass. grades =/= intelligence. Rap does not make you dumb, rock or punk will not make you smarter. You're either a dumbass or not; it doesn't matter what kind of music you listen to.

Shit man.. i was looking for the meaning of a couple songs and i love Eminem so i decided to look up this song and i am always trying to defend him because every1 thinks that just 'cause he is always talking shit bout Kim that he is a bad person.. i love this song and yes i did notice that this song has no swearing in it.. lol...Eminem brought me into rap and if anything he will be the one to bring me out(if that ever happends) i respect him a lot because this song shows that yeah there is a bad thing going on between him and his wife that he is so upset with her that he has the need to kill her but he turns his anger around and leans on his daughter to make sure that it doesn't happend. he clearly states in most of his songs that if he didn't love
hailey so much that he prob. would of shot kim by now.. we all no he still loves kim in some way that he would never kill her but we also know that he loves hailey too much to do it too.. i like to think this song was directed maybe from a dream he had and not just a sick thought of having his daughter help him kill her mom at the beach but this is just my opinion of what the song could mean. Most of this whole time not too many people have been saying what they think the song is about besides the fact that he wont really kill his wife. and mostly what i have bin readin is people saying how eminem is the best or eminem sucks or if u dont like eminem then wtf r u doing here... i think that u shood be alowed not to like the song and say that u dont like it but if u dont like the artist well then thats when u need to fuck off because this isnt about weather u like eminem or not its about what u think the song means.. anyways if u agree plz say

Eminem is extremely wack. I imagine his lyric books read like the inside of a 13 year old girls diary. He writes about how he hates his mom and wants to kill his wife. He cries like a faggot about his daughter throughout entire albums. And a whole nation of middle class white kids made him a huge success, because they too hate their mommies. Eminem is garbage.

This song proves that eminem is a pig, and I can't believe that his conscience isn't weighed down that he's letting kids across the country jam right along to horrific violence in his songs.

Disgusting.

I think that you should all know that Eminem doesn't actually kill Kim in this song...

This song is actually a sequal to Kim, even though Kim was released after this song, "Kim" shows how she was killed. So 97' Bonnie and Clyde was a follow up, and tells what happened after wards.

To me, the song is twisted, not just because he's killed his wife, but because he is shamelessly making his daughter an accomplice to murder.

While he sounds like a loving and caring father, I think that by having his daughter help him clean up afterwards does not make him a loving parent.

In the afterglow of the murder, he is thinking about the long term reprecussions of his actions:
"There's a place called heaven and a place called hell,
A place called prison and a place called jail,
And da-da's probably on his way to all of 'em except one."

However, he isn't thinking about the long term effect this is going to have on his little girl. Eventually she is going to learn what happened, and then how is she going to feel? How is she going to have a normal life knowing what her father has done not only to her mother, but to herself as well?

Don't get me started on his wife...

As sick minded he is, you have got to admit that his extent of creativity in this song surpasses most songs and not just rap. But if you think about it, Eminem probably has not laid a finger on Kim. He is just venting, about how his mom and wife had f'd up his life so badly.

i agree with HivesfanCC: "You are criticizing others about voicing their opinion about eminem voicing his opinion."

i think it sucks because you know he has a very deliberate influence in the industry and he's misusing it. hype like this can have a very real effect, especially in justifying domestic violence.
not saying that he would actually go out and do this necessarily, and it's good for him to express his feelings as an artist, but he needs to own it for what it is.

and it's not giving the mother any sort of voice or name. who says it's kim? if it is or it isn't, or if he doesn't even know because it's just a theory, she is still unnamed and completely discarded as being useless and deserving of this betrayal.

and it scares me that people, fully believing that he literally meant kim, just egg him on through such a cowardly response to his rightful pain and anguish in any such custody issue.

people say this song is sick which i can see in fairness (not in my opinion though) i think the song is expressing his love for his daughter 'your all i got in this world' which at the time i would imagine wa very true. maybe im just talking shit, mixture of love (fr is daughter) nd hate (with kim). love this song though, awesome beat!
