I don't see this song being abotu marijuana at all (and for all I know, I may be the only person) To me, this song is a lot like Drive. It tells you that you are the only one that can make your decisions, and do what you need to do. Don't procrastinate and wait for the right moment, or green light, if it never comes or you miss it, you'll never know what might have happened

Gobsow hit it right on the head, this is definitely not about marijuana, why do you think there are all the driving allusions? He's talking about a street light, not a certain shade of leaf.

your's doesn't. sure you're entitled to your own opinion, but to assume that everyone know's it's a druggie song, that is stupid. this song is saying to grab a hold of life, and down just stay still when you have a per fect chance to move ahead. to not sit around while your world is edging you to move ahead.

I agree that the song is about going after dreams, aspirations, etc...But the lyrics posted here are a slight bit wrong I think...I thought the last part was "When you procastinate you choose lies" The posted lyrics make more sense, but Brandon has a way of pronouncing things oddly....Who knows.

well....hmm. it sounds to me like he's getting veeery slightly annoyed at someone who is very slow to make a decision or do..erm..something. yeh a certain shade of green as in a traffic light. he's saying they're being soooo slow that they probably wouldn't even go if they saw a green light...but wait for a certain shade...ahhaaaah. yeh, i'm BAD at explaining things.

It's like saying that the light is green for you to go and get on with your life and make something of yourself, but it's got that annoyed tone because you haven't begun to move yet, so it's asking do you need it to be a certain shade?

I think of it as somebody who slows down on their own life trying to be somebody else and all their jealous of... i don't know just my view, kinda wierd i know.
BUt basicly the song is probably about procrastination. "act now, or lose it all" sort of thing.
On an other note, this song is great to listen to, like for themusic and not the whole song. I don't know. I just love its beat.

I think it's about the fact the too many people wait around and put things off because they're either afraid to do something or just don't want to. You should just do things when you feel it or when you want to because that's when it's true, if you know you want to do something, just do it.

yea i agree... i think the certain shade of green is supposed to make u think of the green light as go, and it is about how ppl wait around too long and miss oportunities and what not. and he is saying that why are u still waiting around when you know you should move forward... or do what you are hesitant about doing... thas just my opinion thou

to me its about people who sit back and wait for stuff to be handed to them and he is saying do u have a voice and oppinion. Can u take ur own advice and go your own way.
In no way is this song about drugs to me the only referance is green but green is also a calm color and not just always weed. he says certain shade of green and to me that means his calm and somewhat doaist life style

You know, I'm kinda thinking a certain shade of green symbolizes jealousy. Like how he's talking about what are you waiting for. He wants this girl to like him and crap and so he's like do you want to get jealous (you want what you don't have) so he's asking if you want a certain shade of green. Remember when you procrastinate you choose last. . . it makes sense to me.
