I stay out late
I go alone
I needed sleep
I go without
I go along

I go all night
I go all night
I make the colors go
I push my senses out
I push my senses out
I keep my existence lean

I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the colors go

And hear I am keen eyed my mind is low to the ground
And in my mind real time is mine and I know what I know
I step up and get none
I step up and get none
I take less and less and less and less and less than none

I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the colors go

At the back of mind I hear the engines whine
At the back of mind I hear the engines whine
Go all night go all night
I make my blood scream
I kiss my fear on the mouth
I kiss my fear on the mouth
I make my blood burn

I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the blood scream
I make the blood burn

And when I step up I get up all the way
And when I step up I get off all the way
When turn my back and walk away
I never come back
I go without I feel the cold but I never come back
I go long
I am gone

I starve starve
I make the colors go
I starve starve
I make the blood scream I make the blood burn

General Comment:At a Rollins Band show, Henry said right before this song that when he was young, his idols were the people on television who would come out of solitary confinement and when asked how they were say, "Fine, motherfucker." Apparently, this song is about such people.

General Comment:I agree with tshgoff, this is a concept common in Rollins writing.

I think of like a boxer starving themself to shed away fat, and be left lean and musclular. Now, apply that to society, we are fed a diet of fast food, cable news shows, and advertisments. We have to starve ourselves of outside influences to be strong minded and true to ourselves.

It's like Hank says "Part Animal, Part Machine"

General Comment:"I make the colors go"...I believe Henry is saying he's putting things in "black and white" - minimalism is the underlying theme of the song (at least to my interpretation).

"here I am keen eyed, my mind is low to the ground...and in my mind real time is mine and I know what I know"

to know the basic (or "black and white") meaning of everything that surrounds you without clouding up its existence (ie: starving yourself) you're forcing yourself to reflect upon why things are the way they are - without catering to the commercialism that is so prevelant all around you.

    that's my take.

Great Rollins song just about going through life being strong and living off nothing and pushing through it to keep going.

General Comment:I'd just like to say that Black Cow of Death did a good job with the punctuation here.
