Letters to Noelle
Marked up cardboard boxes fell
I fell with them
Crushed like them
I am

Letters to Noelle
Years of waiting, nothing fading
Emptied out my pen
Carved the rest into my hand

Letters to Noelle
Written from my darkest cell
Filling up my wishing well
Waiting on their return

But the driveway's clear
You pray for silence
Step into my quiet violence
Do you see pictures in my words?
Standing still, I'm moving faster
Searching out my next disaster
You're gonna get what you deserve

Letter to Noelle
I see them in a box inside a case
That she keeps locked up in a place
I'll never be

Letters to Noelle
I emptied out my veins onto a page
Set to a scream you just can't gauge
She cannot see what's inside of me

But the driveway's clear
You pray for silence
Step into my quiet violence
Do you see pictures in my words?
Standing still, I'm moving faster
Searching out my next disaster
You're gonna get what you deserve

Letters to Noelle
Tied on ribbons in my brain
Obsession don't give way to pain
I know that now

I know that now.

General Comment:one of my favorite SoCo songs. I just don't understand why ever rather slow SoCo song has to be compared to Konstantine. Konstantine is still one of the best songs Andrew has ever written but it's on a whole different level. So, I will say that Konstantine is one of my favorite songs of all time and Letters to Noelle is my favorite Something Corporate song.

General Comment:No one's commented on this song in a while, which is surprising with the Played in Space album recently coming out. I'm not even sure what to think of this song ... it's beautiful and tragic, and everyone can relate to it. I feel like everyone's interpretation is right on: the desperate longing to be with someone who sees you as dead to them. The song captures that longing so perfectly. The "quiet violence" is so fitting. It's almost like when you know you should just let go and move on but you care too much to, and secretly you struggle but don't let anyone know. I feel like the chorus is choppy but it makes sense in a chronological way. I'm not sure really what it means even still. It's just an overall beautiful song...

General Comment:What is the obsession with Konstantine, I mean, yes, it's amazing but there are so many better Andrew McMahon songs.
I mean Bad Days by SoCo and I'm Ready by Jack's Mannequin are better in my opinion.
And this is one of my favourites too.
    Leave Konstantine be.

General Comment:i adore this. i agree with you, bosco9.
    its amazing.
letters are a breautiful thing, because look at them from far away, and they could be anything, they just look like words on a page.
but look closely, read well and you may see the teardrops of someone crying while writing them.
and the fact is, a simple letter can create an unbreakable bond. like with noelle the letters had a huge impact on the writer of the song. x

General Comment:i think that the whole "obsession dont give way to pain" line means that the person that he's in love with can hurt him but it doesn't lessen the obsession. No matter how badly this person hurts him, he still maintains the obsession. thats just what i always thought.

General Comment:no one has posted on this song lately but I think I will...anyways I love this song my best friend's name in Noelle and even though this song doesn't really apply to us I think about her everytime I here it.

    General Comment:you guys,

    it's about sex!!!

i sound like a pervert saying this but oh my gosh.

the lyrics are wrong and in the 2nd to last chorus he adds in
"she smiles taking off her shirt"
    and
"on her back, my next disaster"

it almost sounds like a rape song lol. i know it isn't but he's like "your'e gonna get what you deserve".

I think it's about a relationship that was a little more physical than anything else but he wanted it to be something more.

i also think that it's more about a sexual relationship that was more a longing for pain than for pleasure. sadomasochistic almost.

General Comment:At firts this song makes me want to weep, but then it's like 'woooah,i guess it's time to move on'. There are two lines that surggest self harm though; 'carved the rest into my hand' & 'i emptied out my viens onto a page'. I can realate to that. It's like when you feel it was your fult that it went wrong, you feel you hurt that special someone, you just want yourself to pay. I think some of the song is about not getting noticed,so they just do all this fast, violent, dangerous ,loud shit. 'Obsession don't give way to pain'. You like someone, you get obsessed, the pain is like 100 times worse that it would have been. beautiful song anyway.
