You idiots, the song sounds bad because the Misfits only got a short time in the recording studio most of which was spent trying to figure out how to work things, so they had to get each song in as few takes as possible

Both versions have things i don't like... or at least could be improved. In the guitars/bass part, i didn't notice much diference, but then that's me, i'm not a guitar or bass player... But the drums and the voice are defenitly better at the metallica version! So i'd say that metallica plays it better, except for the way it ends... metallica cuts the last part of the song, and i think that was pretty cool in the original misfits version

Eh...most of the stuff you guys are talking about has nothing to do with the meaning.
I agree most Misfits songs are about horror movies. Though I don't know what this would be based on if it is.
I think it's about a guy killing this girl that he cared about, but drived her insane and they've basically both signed their lives away.
PS: The Metallica cover was good, but it was not better.

Whoa noobs, Metallica is just about the only band that can cover a misfits song and do it well. I love the Misfits, and I love this song but Metallica put their own spin on it and they pulled it off damn well.

The song might suck in the recordings.
But i bet it's badass live.
All bands are better live.
And i don't like how the drumming gets off beat sometimes.
I like the Metallica version too.

this is a great song,es muy bueno. and i the metallica cover, but that's mostley because I metallica. also not all bands are better live, I have heard some nastey things about electric wizard's live shows, as well as others.

Although Metallicas cover was good- if you like metallica, they lost a lot of the "roughness" of the song and the Misfits version is a million X better!

In some weird way i find this song romantic and not about a slut at all. "dead end girl for a dead end guy".

I dont think he killed her because he hated her....

Metallica version is not as good as Misfits original version, Aiden version is not as good as Misfits original version, altho Aiden version is better than Metallica version, Mammoth King, drumming does not go out of time, trust im a drummer, and DANZIGS vocals sound as great as they ever do. awesome song, about a crappy relationship, obvioulsy.

I love this song Glen Danzic was a great singer they need him back, my friands band did a cover of this song but it is metal it is awsome but not as good as the orginal

all of the earler misfits has that "raw" sound... and thats what makes it good... the recording prosses were b grade... thats why the "newfits" as some of you are calling the graves era sounds so diffrent... graves wasn't danzig yes but the graves era was still more misfits than todays misfits due to the fact that doyle left and now its just jerry... its kinda sad what the misfits have become... but hey... there still my fav all time band.

i like both versions because the original misfits one gives you a raw sound of listening while the metallica cover version gives you a much more cleaner version of it...theyre both great songs to me...

They should make a 1 night Original Misfits reunion playing all the songs from Misfits Collection 1 and 2

i actually just got into listening to The Misfits. this is the first and one of my favorite songs..the other is dig up her bones,..granted the fact that people make whiny cunts of themselves because danzig isnt singing, its still a great song, get over it
