If your circle stays unbroken
Then you're a lucky man
Cause it never, never, never has for me
In the palace of the virgin
Lies the chalice of the soul
And it's likely you might find the answer there
She had thirteen years of teenage tears
And never a helping hand
She had fourteen more of rain before
She saw the sight of land
She was a photograph just ripped in half
A smile inside a frown
And the the light, the answer right
Inside her coming down
I can go away
I can leave here
I can be invisible
He was just eighteen and in-between
A lady and a man
His daddie's girl in momma's world
And that was when he ran
You know the word confused has been abused
But that's just what he was
And then the spark inside the dark
The answer came because it said
You can go away
You can leave here
You can be invisible
Well I grew up quick and I felt the kick
Of life upon a stage
So I bought the book and took a fast look
At just the very last page
It was a single word that I'd just heard
From the two that came before
The only way to really stay
Is to walk right out the door
You can go away
You can leave here
You can be invisible
You can go away
You can leave here
You can be invisible
You can go away
Lord you know it's right to leave here
So I just become invisible
Then you're a lucky man
Cause it never, never, never has for me
In the palace of the virgin
Lies the chalice of the soul
And it's likely you might find the answer there
She had thirteen years of teenage tears
And never a helping hand

The first story imo is about a girl who was sexually abused when she was younger. Then, as the theme of this song goes, after shes had enough, she dissappears.
The second story is possibly about a gay guy who was mentally abused and shut in by his parents. Then he became INVISIBLE lol.
The last story is obviously about Dio himself. The book he is referring to, I think, is the bible and when he says "I took a fast look at just the very last page." Hes talking about revelations.Thats what I did with it :P.
I do NOT get the 2 first verses.f
This song talks about 3 stories.
The story of a young teenage girl, the story of a young teenage boy, and the story of Dio ^^
I can't really "track" the problem that the girl is having. Maybe she's having no problem at all, teenagers tend to make problems up and screw their lifes :P
But when it comes to the boy i can clearly see what his problem is. It's about his parents. Some fathers see their boys "competitive" and try to degrace them or humiliate them. They do that by calling you a coward, imbicile, uncapable od doing anything, and sometimes they even attack your "masculinity". that's why he says "His daddie's girl" Also, we all know how mothers tend to be overprotective, cutting us out from the rest of the world, making us "soft" etc. that was his problem, and he wanted to get away from it, just like the girl. (The boy might also had sexuality problems, like he was bi or something, not sure about it).
Then Dio speaks about himself, and he clearly means rainbow as mentioned before. I don't know what the "book" that he bought is but i'm sure it has nothing to do with holy books.
The word that Dio saw is "Run away". It's a general truth that many things in life (or people) will slow us down. We are not evil or good, but we do have a good ad bad side. Some people make us use the good side and other the bad side. We MUST avoid those people that makes us use the "bad" side of oruselves. Those people will hold us down from life, and we wil be nothing (invisible). I need to learn how to dare/Some times we have to deal with our problem but most of the times (when it comes to people) we need to "walk right out the door" ;)
I'm not sure if this is a good interpatation., it's my second anyway :D Comment if you like :)
But in the last verse, It could be about Ronnie's rise to the stage. He released a single or EP, whatever you call them at a fairly young age.
Plus he took some kicks to the teeth when he left Rainbow and he had to try and pick it all up again.
I don't know if that is really what it's about, it just makes sense if you think about it.
"The Answer Came Because it Said... You can go away...you can leave here...you can be invisible"
