This is one of the Mifits earliest songs (1977 or so) awesome/kinda morbid but it gets me fired up, one of my favortites. Pretty daring for 77' if you ask me, but I wasn't around then, so who knows.

Well.. I simply love the song.. not much more to say.. but my question is why is everyone so agressive towards those who either don't know about something supposedly important.. or abbrasive towards those with a different opinion? Its fucking retarded, The old misfits rule as do the new..danzig was not perfect in the band.. niether was michale, that was the fucking beauty of it, the perfections through the imperfections, one of which being: shitty recording, but still great music...I'm fucking tired of ranting.. Wow - do you people ever talk about the song MEANINGS? Anyway, my view on this song has nothing do with Glenn Danzig actually saying/doing these things. My personal view is that he experienced these things through his life in one way or another and how bitter/sweet death really can be. Any actual thoughts on the MEANING of the song other than the Danzig/Graves fight? (Who cares, you either like them or you dont!)

And no, we don't talk about actual song meanings. I really don't know what this is about...
And I never really got it, why is this band so so so popular. Never got it why Ramones is so popular either. Don't get me wrong I do like Ramones and I have liked every Misfits song I've heard (which is like four... maybe.) But neither of those bands blow my mind, they're just ok. so can someone please tell me why does every rock fan love this band so much. And I really can't relate to these songs either. Who would relate to a song, that is talking about raping mothers?

This IS Blitzkrieg Bop, just played two frets higher. And why do we assume Danzig's lyrics can't be metaphors? I believe he has said that the song "Mother" was a metaphor for the damaging actions of Tipper Gore and the PMRC. As an aside, you really shouldn't post if you are unable to prevent yourself from making at least basic grammatical errors. Fucking inbreds.

ptw converge, people saying that your band sounds just like the misfits is an insult, whether they mean it that way or not. Unless they specifically just mean Danzigs voice, the misfits were not very good musicians. Great songs, poor musicianship, why do you think every cover of a misfits song you have heard sound better than the misfits version? If your band is any good at all im sure you sound better playing this song than they did.

punkisanattitude you are entitled to your fucked up insane opinion. The reason people like the Misfits is because of the subtle use of vocal harmony, minor key tonalities, the aggressive lead vocals, the shit is fun to sing along to! Not to mention the lyrics are awesome. As far as the lyrics to this particular song, first I'd like to say to the guys who pussyfoot around this and try to explain that he's talking about something else other than KILLING BABIES and RAPING MOTHERS you're fooling yourselves with your BULLSHIT. I don't know exactly whether he's speaking in first, second or third person, but I'm pretty sure he's talking about DEATH since he mentions it IDK a dozen times at least. My impression is that he either punched some chick in the stomach and forced her to abort or forced her to go to the clinic and get an abortion and that he also fucked that same woman against her will at some point, or was fucking her maybe with her consent but was fantasizing about it being rape or they did some healthy roleplaying. He's saying good that baby is dead, great I fucked your mom I don't really give a shit about anyone but myself and really if you want to psychoanalyse it maybe that's because I don't give a fuck about myself either and I can't wait to fucking die. But don't give me a bunch of shit about freaking out, because I really don't care, I'm okay with it, I WELCOME SWEET DEATH. That's just my take, I get a visual of a guy ripping a baby out of it's mother's womb or taking it from her arms and tossing it aside then raping her and not really giving a shit, it's all just another day in the life.
