Bell bottom blues, you made me cry.
I don't want to lose this feeling.
And if I could choose a place to die
It would be in your arms.

Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

It's all wrong, but it's all right.
The way that you treat me baby.
Once I was strong but I lost the fight.
You won't find a better loser.

Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it 'cause
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

Bell bottom blues, don't say goodbye.
I'm sure we're gonna meet again,
And if we do, don't you be surprised
If you find me with another lover.

Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it 'cause
I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day, please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

I don't want to fade away.
Give me one more day please.
I don't want to fade away.
In your heart I want to stay.

Song Meaning:Like "Layla," the song is about Pattie Boyd, George Harrison's wife.

Clapton explained the title of the song in his autobiography: "Before I left, Pattie asked me to get her some pairs of jeans... so I had written 'Bell Bottom Blues' for her."

Incredible song, beautiful harmonies and striking guitar parts. This has always been one of my favorite songs by Clapton.

General Comment:All first album of Dominos was about Boyd, this song, according to Clapton:The Autobiography, he wrote when Boyd asked him to bring her a couple of Landlubbers jeans with bell bottom from Miami, where The Dominos were working on album.

General Comment:For me, this song spoke about my personal feelings after my boyfriend broke up with me... the line "I don't wanna fade away" especially gets to me. I told him we can't speak to each other anymore, and when he sees me again, I'll be over him... "I'm sure we're gonna meet again,And if we do, don't you be surprised If you find me with another lover." However, I'm still not completely over him yet, and I still want to be in his heart, hence the " In your heart I long to stay." .... or something like that. This may not be the best interpretation, but the lyrics obviously revolve around heartache and the struggle to move towards the future instead of dwelling on something that has already died.

My Interpretation:This song applied very strongly for me, when I rekindled an old romance with a woman who had been married for the 15+ years since I had seen her. We both wanted to be together, but she was in a situation she could not easily get out of. I had to move on, but she understood I would likely find somebody new before she could be available...I would have crawled across the floor for her

Song Meaning:This song reaches beneath the soul as it prophetically describes the feeling of heartbreak. Not wanting to "loose this feeling" is the grip of the hearts sensation for who he loves the most. He then sings screaming! the length he will go or "beg for you to take me back!!!". He has an utter feeling of obliteration and shock. From here he understands that she might or will not think of him as much when she is all he can see. This makes him beg "Give me one more day please". If he "fades away" to him "its all wrong" but he has to understand being, a kind emotional man for her sake "its all right" so thats when he bites the bullet and anchors the pain and feels absolute devastation but knows he is still a Great Man and she will never find another one quite like him.- "Never find a better loser". He speaks of this fight of love that he lost.
Now its time to part and he cant "say goodbye" she is the all perfect love in his eyes remember, so in desperation he threatens when they meet again "don't you be surprised If you find me with another lover". This is the hardest thing for a Great Man, It is to picture himself with another lover, but he knows he must be happy and that is to be with someone as special as he is. Its pain staking to experience this, but he will later find what hes been waiting for.

General Comment:Clapton romances his Fender Stratocaster (guitar), literally and figuratively, to profess his genuine love for the lucky woman. This is one of his "edgy" sounds that really hits deep down when you listen to it. His delivery of his emotions, via words and guitar liks, resound over and over again. The guy's a genius! "Sunshine Of Your Love" has always struck a chord for me - the same way. Yes, Clapton uses the word "Blus" on multpile levels, I.E. , for the song title and for his guitar style. Again - genius!

I'm a vocalist and not a guitarist, still, I "feel" the emotions echo throughout this song.
Emotion or feeling we can't fake.

General Comment:Best Clapton song ever. I don't know what it is that draws you in, but it's by far my favorite. Talk about pouring your heart out.
