I'm hurting you again
Too lonely to pretend
Like everything is new
I promised you to blow it all away
In your world
No one is trying alone
In your world
No one is dying alone
Too broken to belong
Too weak to sing along
I'll comfort you my friend
Helping you to blow it all away
In your world
No one is trying alone
In your world
No one is dying alone
Too lonely to pretend
Like everything is new
I promised you to blow it all away
In your world
No one is trying alone
In your world
No one is dying alone
Too broken to belong
Too weak to sing along
I'll comfort you my friend
Helping you to blow it all away
In your world
No one is trying alone
In your world
No one is dying alone

I repeat...IT'S ABOUT 9/11. Muse was in New York or Boston when it happened, and were stranded there for weeks, so they decided to write this song, and another...I don't remember which though.
So there. Confusion ended.
Great song, by the way.
Both are about 9/11.
"I'm hurting you again"
Could be the singer talking to the depressed guy.
Or the depressed guy talking to his body (self-harm?).
Or the depressed guy to everyone else. Some people who are depressed think that they are a nuisance to everyone else so become more depressed.
"Too lonely to pretend"
Too lonely to pretend everything is all right? Now they're alone they don't act all happy like when in front of their friends.
"I promise you to
Blow it all away"
The singer promises to the depressed guy, that he'll cure his depression.
Or the depressed guy will shoot himself (literally "blow it all away").
"In your world
No one is crying alone"
The depressed guy turns on his friend who's saying he'll help him, and tells him he can't understand, he has a perfect life but this guy can't see any way out and sees him as naive.
Or the depressed guy looks at everyone else and says the same, possibly pleading with the listener.
"In your world
No one is dying alone"
All he can see is death.
Or he's contemplating suicide as above. Most depressed people don't actually want to *die*, they just can't stand living.
"Too broken to belong
Too weak to sing along"
A hint that people are trying to "cheer him up" but nothing will work.
Or he thinks back on his earlier happy life.
"I'll comfort you my friend
Helping you to
Blow it all away"
Same thing, he wants to help him recover.
Incredible song! I'm only just discovering this whole metal side to Muse. Incredible.
