May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadow's call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utulie (Darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (Darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

General Comment:My mom played Enya for me all te time when I was a baby, I haven't listened to her for years, and now, years later, when I listened to it, it took me back and brought me back to the very place I was when I first heard it. Songs do that. I can always remember where I was the time I first heard a song.

General Comment:As an LOTR fan, i'm impressed that it includes some lyrics in Tolkien's Elvish language, Quenya. Enya's lyricist had to study the language for writing the song. The Quenya language lyrics sound beautiful when Enya sings them. There should be more such songs. I think Tolkien designed the language to be well-suited for music and singing, and to be reflective of his Elves, who were written as inherently musical and having been created by song.

General Comment:I am in love with this song. It is very peaceful and harmonious. I think it was the best song created for The Lord Of The Rings.

    General Comment:Derek, here's your bucket :)

Of course everyone sees it in a different way but Enya is a Christian herself you know. Her voice is so beautiful. She is truly gifted...

General Comment:Okay im sorry, but if one more christian starts doing a god and harsh times of the christian path comparison i am going to hurl. I am a huge enya fan and I'm sorry but there are so many different ways to praise the song without bringing religion into it. No offense to the Christian religion though.

General Comment:you know, i've watched LOTR like a million times, but i've never really stopped to listen to this song. now that i have, i'm totally blown away. for me, it seems to say "life's hard and things will not always go how you want them to, but that's how it is. so just let it be." as a firm believer in God, i feel that there is always a reason for everything that happens in my life, like a lesson to learn or a challenge to take. so "may it be". great song, great movie, great singer. just amazing
