These are my hands, but what can they give me?
These are my eyes, but they cannot see
These are my arms, but they don't know tenderness
And I must confess that I am usually drawn to sadness
And loneliness has never been a stranger to me, but

Love tried to welcome me
But my soul drew back
Guilty of lust and sin
Love tried to take me in

These are my lips, but they whisper sorrow
This is my voice, but it's telling lies
I know how to laugh, but I don't know happiness
And I must confess, instead of spring, it's always winter
And my heart has always been a lonely hunter, but still

Love tried to welcome me
But my soul drew back
I was covered with dust and sin
Love tried to take me in

Love tried to break me

And I must confess, instead of spring, it's always winter
And my heart has always been a lonely hunter, but still

Love tried to welcome me
But my soul drew back
I was guilty of lust and sin
Love tried to take me in

Love tried to welcome me
But my soul drew back
Covered with dust and sin
Love tried to take me in

(Love tried to break me)
But my soul drew back
Guilty of lust and sin
(I was covered with dust, covered with sorrow)
Love tried to take me in

Still, love tried to welcome me
But my soul drew back
(Guilty of lust and sin) Covered with dust and sin
Love tried to take me in

(Love tried to break me) Love tried to welcome me
(Love tried to welcome me)

After what has happened with Sean Penn and Guy Ritchie, Lady Madonna has every right to feel sadness in her life!-Love tried to Welcome Me is one of Rebel Ciccone's most beautiful songs! Madonna is sad! Something that Wallis Simpson and Evita Peron would definitely understand. It's also something Madonna's younger rivals will never understand because the'll never be her! When mother Maddy cries this song to her kids when they go to bed at night, she tells Lola, Rocco, Dave and little Mercy of her struggle in life-particularly her mother's death and the ultimate criticism Madonna has faced about stardom and fame. Yet Love Tried to Welcome Me is not a waterfall of rage-rather, the ballad is a calming river of tears and a beautiful sadness that Madge does so well in her life. Madonna's sad voice is absolutely beautiful, gorgeous and exquisite in Love Tried to Welcome Me-a beautiful Madonna ballad. With this song, Madonna finally got respect among Rock Critics knowing that she would one day make it to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The road from Detroit to Cleveland was a short fast drive. Madonna got there and she cried. As always, it was gracious. She was bestowed and honored with sadness, joy and love. For Madonna, it's always about the Music so that Love Can and Will Welcome Her again in the Detroit MDNA Decoder. Madonna is "drawn to sadness" in Love Tried to Welcome Me, that's for sure -but with a song this beautiful, her sadness is worth it. May Madonna Forever Cry about Love in a Song!
