Today is the last day that I'm using words
They've gone out, lost their meaning
Don't function anymore

Let's, let's, let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious honey

Today is the last day that I'm using words
They've gone out, lost their meaning
Don't function anymore

Traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, to the arms of unconsciousness
Traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, to the arms of unconsciousness

[Chorus:]
Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious
Let's get unconscious honey
Let's get unconscious

Words are useless, especically sentences
They don't stand for anything
How could they explain how I feel

Traveling, traveling, I'm traveling
Traveling, traveling, leaving logic and reason
Traveling, traveling, I'm gonna relax
Traveling, traveling, in the arms of unconsciousness

[Chorus:]

And inside we're all still wet
Longing and yearning
How can I explain how I feel?

[Chorus:]

Traveling, traveling (repeat twice)
Traveling, traveling, in the arms of unconsciousness

And all that you've ever learned
Try to forget
I'll never explain again

General Comment:Writing by Rival Bjork, Raw Emotion, Meaning and Rage by Lady Madonna, Bedtime Stories is about all the values and cultural mores that Madonna once held dear but now has seen through and that the meadia tabloids she wishes and hopes would go away once and for all. The media and press are nothing but feeders who take but never give and that the people who don't like and absolutely hate and detest Madonna have a lot to say about outrage, antics and her controversies and absolutely nothing good to say about what Madonna actually does best and is really known for-her music, her humanity and her art. Madonna is basically saying that talk is cheap without action. She is "Traveling into the arms of unconsciousness"-and transcendence! Then, when Madonna pleads to her audience in Sad and Wet Tears
-"And Inside/We're All Still Wet!/Longing and Yearning/How Can I Explain How I Feel?," She is Crying in Tears. There is only one emotion Madonna feels and it is that of Sadness. Madonna Can't Stop Crying Her Heart Out Because She is Sad Beyond Belief. Lady Madge Will Never Explain Again! Miss Ciccone is moving on with her life. When Lola and Rocco Hear the Bedtime Stories, they begin to cry. Mother Madonna reassueres Lola and Rocco "Hey my friends, I had to go through my trials to get to where I am now. Lola and Rocco, it's ok! I love you both! Lola and Rocco say to their mother "Mother Madonna we love you both!" And so it shall be for the Ciccones.

General Comment:My 3rd favorite Madonna song of all time.
It refers to the sweet peace you get from sleep (the unconscious) . You don't have to think about anything; especially all of life's troubles (leaving logic and reason). Words have no meaning in the unconscious; You're simply in pure nothingness (they've gone out, lost their meaning, don't function anymore).

General Comment:The real story behind the song:

"Bedtime Story" was a collaboration of sorts between Madonna and Icelandic popstar Björk. A fan of Björk's solo work, Madonna harbored intentions of working with her, although Björk declined the opportunity of co-operation, instinctively feeling it would be wrong. The Bedtime Stories album co-producer, Nellee Hooper (also responsible for co-production of Björk's early solo work) asked Björk to contribute to the album sessions, leading to her contribution of the demo "Let's Get Unconscious" especially written for Madonna. Both Hooper and De Vries changed the composition significantly enough to gain co-writing credits. The lyrics to "Bedtime Story" are Björk's own criticism of Madonna's aesthetic.[2]

General Comment:The real story is: After listening to Debut (Björk's album), Madonna asked her to write collaborate in the next album (which became Bedtime Stories), but Björk was touring and working on Post so she wrote Bedtime Story with Nellee Hooper and Madonna for this album.
Madonna loved the song so it became the title track.

Madonna is a declared Björk fan and Björk also remixed some songs for Madge.

They're both my favourite female artists in music.

General Comment:I heard that Bjork wrote this as a critique of Madonna. Madonna is that cool - she took Bjork's critique and made an awesome song and video out of it.

General Comment:i think this song is about the power of the words by their energies.
people does'nt give enough credit to what they say or think but words have so much power.

General Comment:Sounds familiar from Bjork. About surrendering to the beauty of subconscious and forgetting the useless things that consume our mind in the physical world.
