I could have
I might have
I thought,
What do I know?

But for a moment,
There was a minute
I thought just for a second
Maybe, it, was

Could have been
Might have been
I thought for a moment it

Too bad,
Sorry about that

Could have been
Might have been
Feel bad about that

General Comment:I think the background lyric "Crimson feed of thalia" is actually "Crimson feet of Kali."

From Wikipedia, Kali is "a Hindu goddess associated with death and destruction. Despite her negative connotations, she is not actually the goddess of death, but rather of Time and Change." The crimson feet alludes to the blood of Shiva, on whose dead body she stands.

    Deep, man!

General Comment:I like it. I wish more people would do what Shatner does, or Shatner would do what he did with Common People and LSD more often. I think in some ways it has more emotion than plain singing, because, seriously, when i'm emotional, I don't go and sing it all out. Usually...

General Comment:So..the lyrics are beautiful and then William Shatner is speaking it? I'd much rather have Ben Folds singing it. It lacks emotion, makes me laugh rather than touch me like Ben Folds other songs. It's just, crazy!

General Comment:Even if William Shatner's previous attempts at songs were somewhat shitty, this one certainly digs him out of the hole he was once in.

    It is beautiful.

General Comment:Here are the background lyrics:

    Oleander holly
    Crimson feed of thalia
Beautiful to hold me, my baby
the only one who really understands me

    Floating hand and hand we
    whisper in the moonlight
    and say that i'm
the things you want to see

    Coda and her star child

    Goddess of the moonlight
    hold me in the morning
and tell me I'm the only one alive
    who really understands you

    Tell me pretty stories
Say you understand me, my baby
the things you want to see
    that I could never be

    In Love...
    In Love...

    Hold me in morning
    Tell me pretty stories
Say that your the only one, my baby
    But I could never be

    In Love...
    In Love...

    Oleander holly
    Crimson feed of thalia
beautiful to hold me, my baby
the only one who really understands me

General Comment:Though most of this song is William Shatner blabbing on, it all adds up to a disgruntled male at the end of a relationship we would see a lot in these days. The chick is some new age emotional person, trying to figure Billy out... and he's just playing a lot with it, because he wants some loving.
Me and my cousin used to "say" along to this song on the bus. It was kind of scary that we knew all the words.
