How many times have you heard someone say
If I had money, I'd do things my way,
But little they know that it's so hard to find
One rich man with a satisfied mind.

Money can't buy back your youth when you're old
A friend, when you're lonely, or peace to your soul.
The wealthiest person is a pauper at times
Compared to the man with a satisfied mind.

When my life is over and my time has run out.
My friends and my loved ones, I'll leave them no doubt.
But, one thing's gone for certain, when it comes my time
I'll leave this old world with a satisfied mind.
Satisfied mind.

General Comment:"A Satisfied Mind" was written by Joe "Red" Hayes and Jack Rhodes in the late 1940's. Jeff's cover is an excellent version. Porter Wagoner had the most success with it in the 60's.

General Comment:of course he had a satisfied mind..I'm sure he was at peace when he succumbed to death. Listen to Grace, it shows Jeff's perception of death and how we should not fear it because it will happen anyway.

General Comment:That line is so true . .we're all working ourselves to save money for conpensation when we retire, to relax for the final days we have left on earth . . I just wonder if it's all worth it considering how the time between, our youth, can't be relived again.
I wish Jeff Buckley...AND Ian Curtis, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and Cliff Burton were all alive. . Hope they left the world with a "satisfied mind" too.
This song is beautiful and meaningful.

General Comment:Yep, it is Jeff’s Funeral song.
Just like Johnny Cash's "Hurt", this song hits a nerve every time. It makes me want to quit my part-time job, move away from the city, travel the word and do stuff . . actually LIVE my LIFE for once without being a friggin slave to money/society/system etc . . .

General Comment:Jeff's versions of songs do give a weird feeling. I'm by no means religious (or an athiest, for that matter), but playing "Hallelujah" is just one of those weird things.

General Comment:I had to learn this song, and I think I've got the vocals down pretty well (NOTE: not half as good as Jeff's though). IOt's soo powerful.

It's like a Religious song for me. I get a kinda (and this may sound cheesy), spiritual feeling after playing it, or listening to it.

THE BEAUTY IN THIS SONG AND JEFF'S PERFORMANCE OF IT ASTOUNDS ME beyond anything.

General Comment:Jeff had to be at least 9 when his dad died because the one & only time Jeff met Tim he was 9...and he played the song at a tribute concert for his dad on 4-26-91,not at his funeral.
