Lyrics for I Think I Lost My Headache as interpreted by OwnPersonalDemon

I Think I Lost My Headache Lyrics
You know why
They called and just let it ring
No reply
The door is open I swear
Ain't no use in pickin up
You know why

[chorus:]
It's all my head I know
So they tell me so
Until my headache goes
Into my head it goes

Tastes so good
Oh, but I knew it would
Tastes so good
Burn like a match house
Medicate just to make you soft
Love is blind

Catchin the rest me
What the hell were they thinking of
You know why

[repeat chorus]

Pretty sure it's 'until my headache goes' instead of 'into my head...'
If that makes any difference?

no, i think it's correct as it is

it's "until my head explodes", not "until my headache goes" though, listen closely

but no, i doubt it makes a difference except to us haha

I like this song a lot. I wonder what "tastes so good?"

I think rumpleteaser is right about the transcription of, "into my head it goes," to, "until my headache goes."

As for sweet pea's question, I would think he is refering to pain medication, and the blind love is the relief of an invisible annoyance. Just a guess.

Yeah, that's how i hear it... i've always heard "until my headache goes" instead of "into my head it goes". I think this song is about getting rid of drug usage effects, for example headache.

It's "into my head it goes." Jeesh, look it up on qotsa.com if you don't know what it is.

This sounds like after a long party Josh is sitting in his living room holding his head in his hands thinking of all the drugs he took, taking another dose of medication, mayby painkillers. The doorbell rings and he canīt even get up to open the door so he wishes the door was already open. Reminds me of a situation in my life when the cops were standing in front of our door and we were all too drunk to open the door... They were very patient and kept on ringing for about one hour. lol

Instead of "Catchin the rest me", I was always sure it said "Catch and arrest me." It makes more sense for the song.

As with the rest of this album, this song is about drug abuse. I had a killer headache today, and this song came on. It struck me at that moment that it was about overloading your head with chemicals to kill the headache... or until your head explodes

I'm just listening to the live version of this on Over the Years and Through the Woods.

Its definately "Until my headache goes."

Josh has said this song is about paranoia:

However, I think there's a little more to it than just that.

I think a good interpretation lies in a combination of several things that have been pointed out by some of you. I think the first verse is describing antisocial or self-isolating behavior, and as the following chorus assists in suggesting; this is a product of paranoia. "Into my head it goes" or "until my headache goes" can both describe the resulting perpetual headache he gets from all the psychological strife.

The next verse describes the drugs he uses to alleviate his pain, both physical and mental. It tastes good in that it's "just what the doctor ordered" as he knew it would be.

The last verse could be describing regret, or just further paranoia produced by the drugs. I'm not positive on it.

Is it "Catch and release me"??? By any chance, cause "Catchin the rest me" doesn't sound right nor does it make much sense.....

Cannabis gets you paranoid (sometimes) but most times it turns out to be just in your head. Also, as I said before, pot kills headache and every stoner will tell you that. However, the lyrics also refer to other drugs, mostly downers.

Ofcourse this is not the only way to look into this song but you can use that as a starting point. I hate when people who actually hadn't used any drugs try to comment on a song, obviously influenced by different types of drugs. It just sounds silly.

For some reason I have always thought of this song as the periods of deep dissociation (an almost dream-like, numbed mental state) one can go into after periods of prolonged mental pain.

It's like the intro is the pounding repeating thoughts and feelings of lethargy and misery, and then the guitar enters into a dreamlike, floating verse. I think this fits especially good with the first verse and the chorus, but it might as well be about drugs.

This is just what it means to me anyway.

The only problem I have with this song is the ending. It's far too drawn out, in my opinion.

Other than that, I like it very much!

Or so they tell me so
Until my head explodes
until my headache goes.

I think this song, you'll be surprised to know, is about Josh Homme over coming the emotional breakdown that followed after he killed former Queens of the Stone age bassist, Nick Oliveri, with a screwdriver after he found Nick had been copulating with his bitch.Josh killed him in a fit of rage, drove out of town with the body in his trunk and buried it beside the motorway(it still hasn't been found yet). He then wrote this song to explain the brief emotional guilt that followed that night and how it came and passed like a headache. I think he got of likely with the murder by recieving like 24 hours of community service cause he made such a kickass song and also no one really agreed with Nick's antics i.e playing naked on stage and his foot fetish...but yeah there's a whole lot of meaning behind this song and all the shit u just read above is all relevant to it!!

Absolutely correct lyrics:

You know why
They called and just let it ring
No reply
The door is open I swear
Ain't no use in picking up
You know why

It's all my head I know
So they tell me so
Until my head explodes
Into my head it goes

Tastes so good
Oh, but I knew it would
Tastes so good
Burn like a match house
Medicate just to make you soft
Love is blind

Catch and release me
What the hell were they thinking of?
You know why

It's all my head I know
So they tell me so
Until my head explodes
Into my head it goes

I think the annoying ass ending is part of giving you a headache or some sort of irony.

Am i the only person that has had sex while the entire song played? :P don't know how I did that....
I want to play it at bars on the jukebox but I would get shot I'm sure for the horns.
