Lyrics for Island In The Sun as interpreted by oofus

Island In The Sun Lyrics
Hip hip
Hip hip
Hip hip
Hip hip

When you're on a holiday
You can't find the words to say
All the things that come to you
And I want to feel it too

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

Hip hip
Hip hip

When you're on a golden sea
You don't need no memory
Just a place to call your own
As we drift into the zone

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

We'll run away together
We'll spend some time forever
We'll never feel that anymore

Hip hip
Hip hip
Hip hip

On an island in the sun
We'll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can't control my brain

We'll run away together
We'll spend some time forever
We'll never feel that anymore

Hip hip

We'll never feel that anymore
No no
We'll never feel that anymore
No no
No no
No no

I was informed that I have been leaving a lot of comments on a lot of depressing songs.. SO here's my attempt at a happy song.. I love Weezer because they have ALWAYS been the happy band and they don't care what anyone else says about it.. ROCK ON!

This song is completely inapproiate for the Olsen Twins. It's not the most upbeat song when you look at it. To me, it seems to be more about sour relationships. Someone one loved, but the love was not returned or there was no chance. Or about a very cherished relationship that just went down the drain. "We'll never feel that anymore," 'ya know? I love this song - it's great - but it brings back sad memories.

it does come off as a happy song, but when you look at the lyrics it *is* sad. it's catchy though, and the spike jonze video is so cool.

you guys are right. i know this guy who's in love w/ the olsen twins but putting it on 1 of their movies ? no freakin way. i think solar sky is kind-a right. he's daydreaming on the way he wishes that it was.

this song makes me think that there is better place to go when things go wrong in your life, and that you dont have to deal with it alone.

I don't think this song is about a "former" relationship. I thought it was more about one of two things. 1) The literal: When you are on vacation, it's perfect, life, the relationship, and once you go back home, it's not the same. Relationships are full of imperfections, and we live with it, but having that week or two of heaven makes you want perfection despite the impossiblity of it. And my other thought: 2) The "honeymoon" of a relationship, where you both act perfect, wanting to be the perfect partner. Then you move on and you act obnoxious, leave your crap everywhere in the apartment, and your partner has to come home to that, and is like WHAT HAPPENED here ?? Hmm... Just a thought.

i dont find this song to be sad, to me, its more of a happy song about a fantasy place that u can go somewhere inside yourself when things arent that great. Kind of like Alice In Wonderland, but without the weirdness. wow, im a huge dork

THE OLSEN TWINS!?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SHIT!?!? Thats just about on par with George Lucas giving NSync cameos in the next star wars. I was appalled enough at the Green album and Maladroit just sucked, but this is just too far. This song represents everything that is bland ad unoriginal about new Weezer material. Predictable, shallow and downright stupid. For all you newcomers to the genius that once was Weezer, I suggest you burn your Green albums and pick up Pinkerton and the Blue Album. Don't even bother with Maladroit this coming may.

First of all the version of the song in the olson movie is a cover and it is the worst cover i have ever heard. I think this songs about drugs. Or maybe hes just on an island on the sun and hes so fine he cant controll his brain. The guy above is right the blue cd is deffenitly the best weezer cd but maladroit has some good songs too.

I love Weezer, they are my fav band...but this song SUCKS!! it is a total disapointment, and the fact that people who are unaware of other weezer songs immediatly associate this with the band is sickening!

While it may suck that this song is going to be in the new olson twins movie, it did do justice in "out cold" the best snowboarding movie ever. This song is really upbeat..its positive. Weezer is such a positive band

This is the coolest Weezer song. It makes me so happy. It gives off happy vibes. Like i should be sitting on the beach with a lemonade and one of those little umbrella tooth picks

i think the people who are all saying this sucks, and is so poppy are all just retarded.. rivers is the songwriter, and if he wants to explore new types of music, not POP if ya ask me, then let him, you don't have to listen to it, but don't try to brainwash all of us to think that way, and if he doesn't want to play pinkerton amterial on concert then he doesn't ahe to. just cuz he's a celeb doesn't mean he has to do what you say.. he's entertaining you, so just shut up

The only reason it was in the olsen movie was because it fit in with the title and theme of the movie

Fond memories of Caceres...
Don't worry, it is also the theme song to the MOVISTAR commercials in Spain. Very popular.

Hey help me out guys. I don't know why, but on my new "Maladroit" CD, this is the song under "American Girls", the last track. What's up with that? Are they normally the same song? No, they're not are they? Argh I'm so confused.
