    General Comment:i've been following the outlook on this song for a long time. that relationships are based on sex and that love doesn't exist. it would be easier to just masterbate and not think about sex or relationships.

    i think that isn't the MESSAGE of this song though, i think he's sort of poking fun at this outlook, like, "i dated once and got my heart broken, so its all fake and i dont need it." i've just heard this song for the first time today and i think rivers really called me on my b.s. i think i'm going to try and fall in love now.

    General Comment:I love this song. I think that everyone's on the mark about him seeing the uselessness in sleeping around, getting your heart broken etc. But what about the end?? He lives by his fear and ends up alone. Hmmm...balance.

    General Comment:bumpygrimes- i think almost everyone else who has heard the song disagrees.

    Anyway, I think eveyone else hads gotten it. Fear of being in a reltionship because he thinks it won't end well.

    I'd just like to add that when I saw them do this live (touring w/Foo Fighters) Brian sang on it, and the last lines of the first verse were slightly different. "It's nothing real, you you better get packin." Still sounded cool I guess, heh.
