I spend the night
Yeah, looking for my inside in a hotel room
Waiting for you
We're gonna make it tonight
Yeah, something in the air tells me that time is right
So we've better get it on

DJ, play a song for the lovers, tonight
Please, play a song for the lovers, tonight

Don't want to wait
Lord, I've been waiting all my life but I'm too late again
I know but I was scared
Can't you see, oh, I'm moving like a train, into some foreign land
That you got on
A ticket for this ride, but I will

Ooh, this is a song for my lover, tonight
Today, play a song for my lover, tonight

One more for the lovers

Can't stop looking back, no no

General Comment:I'm sure it's "DJ, play a song for the lovers, tonight".

"Today, play a song for the lovers, tonight" doesn't really make sense.

General Comment:These lyrics are all wrong if I had more time I would try to fix them...but the song is good and I heard him explain before that this song is about him being alone all the time on the road in a hotel room by himself dealing with depression and just wanting to be with his lover which is his current wife.

General Comment:I like this a lot. I interpreted the lyrics as having something to do with... um, awkwardness? Like he wants to sleep with this chick, but he's intimidated or anxious about it. Or maybe it's not sexual, and he's just kind of apprehensive about begining a relationship with her? I don't know. Maybe the 'can't stop looking back' implies that he's been hurt in relationships before, and he's scared of starting a new one?

    General Comment:the real lyrics are:
"i ain't got a ticket for this ride, but i will"
and there is some lyrics missing at the end where he sings:
"o brother wont you lend a hand I’m alone in a room
    and I’m waiting for love
i don’t know when this dreams gonna stop
but I’m telling you friend I don’t want to get up"

but anyway, i love this song, and i never noticed all the sexual innuendos before, haha.

    General Comment:sad song...

"can't stop looking back, no no..."

could there be a past behind this relationship?

General Comment:Ashcroft's best song... by far. Actually the only one I liked on this album. there are better songs on the new album, though.
Good lyrics, great music but it gets me in a weird mood.
probably the best thing about this song is the video.

General Comment:I love this song! It is what reeled me in to getting this album and loving MR Richard Ashcroft... i also love the film clip, it's strange because the song almost has a 'sad' mood surrounding it, well it does to me anyway! *Samba*

General Comment:This is a song filled with sexual innuendo. Not that a lot of songs DON'T have sexual innuendo, I'm just stating it as I see it.

This is a song for those boys who are going on their first sexual expedition. Not my favourite tune, or lyrics. Ah well. Music is like that.
