You're a head case with a smile
Can't stop to make up your mind
Education is so lame (so lame)
When you bitch and you moan
You're a loose girl, I'm a guy (hey)
You're a truth freak with a lie
The situation is so strange
It's a TV show

In a hotel on the phone
You're gonna leave me, I should've known (should've known)
And I was thinkin', it's so sad
I didn't want you to go
Don't want to follow the laws of man
Bloody apron, leg of lamb
It's so hard to win
When there's so much to lose

Infiltrate the walls that are caving in
It ain't a bad thing
This ain't reality
Infiltrate the walls that are caving in
It ain't a bad thing
Because it is natural

Second Avenue, raising Cain
I'm a sinner, ring my bell (hey)
I'll tell you what, I get up
If I knew I fell

My Opinion:It seems kind of like how a guy loses control over a break-up and rapes his ex.

"because it is natural" should be "Think of it as natural"

General Comment:I always got the impression that this song was about adolescence. stupidity, getting dumped, angst, and rebellion. Maybe a transition.

General Comment:It's obviously about going crazy and eating the girl while on drugs ("Don't wanna follow the laws of man" "this ain't reality"). I love how subtly creepy QOTSA can be sometimes. Oh, and there's no "dark humour" in "The Mosquito Song" or "How to Handle a Rope". These are just creepy, unsettling songs.

General Comment:I think it's about tripping out on drugs when he says, "Infiltrate the walls that are caving in." But it's not a bad thing, meaning you should realize you're just high and everything'll be all right. He sings, "this ain't reality."

    Sorry, I'm high.

General Comment:in order to understand this cosmic poetry you have to take it in steps. it all strats with a young man who is experiencing a mental breakdown and he chooses to do everything he can that society sterotypes as wrong. his parents think his life has no direction. school to him is a joke and he knows the only way to make school better is not to bitch and cause chaos. truth freak with a lie is directed back at his parentals. all the boy can do is laugh at his tv. show. the second verus is a little hazy buy strating this verus the boy is out of school and on his own living his life his way. however he looses his mate shich throws him more into his breakdown. the next lines are my all-time favorite. its a biblical refernce. the "laws of man" (commandments) the boy will never follow. in the bible the lambs are the followers of the law, they are innocence and purtiy. however they are to be tormented and slautered. the boy motivtion is that he knows that wat soceity views as wrong is usally more, interresting, exciting, and fun. the next verus is saying that the walls represent all thge flaws society has and becuase someone is finally acting natural the walls are caving in crushing the source of the problem. "raising Cain" another biblical reference They story of Cain and Able. society once again being a mother fucker thinkin cain is in the wrong for because of a murder. it ok to be a sinner. the whole time society thought the boys ways were wrong and that he should change his life. but the whole time the boy never thought to change cause he knew he never fell he was always on top.

    ha. ill tell you wat

General Comment:I'm doing exams atm and thought the lines
"Education is so lame (so lame)
When you bitch and you moan"
were so fitting I had to laugh out loud.

This song reminds me of that Roald Dahl story Lamb To The Slaughter... connections??

General Comment:id say its less about cannabalism and more about how people hold theselves above everything else. we walk by a butcher shop and see hunks of meat hanging in the window and think nothing of it, but what if those hunks of meat were people not cow or lamb. i would say its more about the idea of canabalism than actualy canabalism

General Comment:I'm pretty sure Josh Homme was only kidding about the whole "Cannibalism" bit. Josh Homme always likes to crack these kinds of jokes, both in concert and in his music.

It basically sounds like another QOTSA break-up song. It starts off with the guy and the girl arguing, and the guy pointing out all the girl's faults (for example, she's educated but she likes to brag about it). She finally leaves him, and he doesn't care. He wants to do something to get back at her, even if he's going against his own will. He finds himself flashing back to their relationship, and finally realizes he was an idiot for breaking up with her.

This is what I get out of the song, at least.

General Comment:I just really love the whole cannibalism idea, it fits so well with the dark humor of other QOTSA songs like How To Handle A Rope and Mosquito song.

I just imagine this song being about this guy who fucks a girl and doesn't understand that it was just a one-night stand (which is suggested that she takes for granted as she is a loose girl) so he just goes all dreamy and psychotic and kills her, possibly eats her corpse, or maybe fucks her? (Infiltrate the walls that are caving in)

So he goes all dreamy and passive as if it's a dream, the whole upbeat-psychotic-dreamy atmosphere is so well created

Love how "Leg of lamb" refers both to the fact that she's a hot young girl and that she's a meal to him, after all, It aint a bad thing, Because it's natural
