The walls are closing in again, oh well
The walls are closing in again, oh well
I seen some thing I thought I never saw
Covered in hair
Paul's dad is warped and bubbling, oh well
Paul's dad is warped and bubbling, oh well
And my mind is out here on another wave
Covered in hair

She won't grow

[Chorus]
You've got a monster (distress) in your parasol (body out??)
You've got a monster (dwarfs, doors?) in your parasol (of course)
You've got a monster (displeasure) in your parasol (I told you??)
You've got a monster ? in your parasol (x-nay?)
Paul's sister is an alien, oh well

Paul's sister is an alien, oh well
I seen some things I thought I never saw
Covered in hair

She won't grow

You've got a monster (distress, my pest?) in your parasol
You've got a monster (dwarfs) in your parasol (war horse)
You've got a monster (displeasure) in your parasol ?
You've got a hole in you I never saw ?
In your parasol, in your parasol

General Comment:Got it, guys. In a interview I'm reading right now, Josh says exactly this wrods:
"Right. I think at this point in my life I can’t necessarily write 'Monsters in the Parasol', which is about me tripping on LSD."

General Comment:I think it's probably just trying to say how everybody's paranoid or at least has one mental disorder. 'That you never saw' I was thinking is like.. look for it and you'll find out what monster is hiding in your parasol. Because there IS one there.

General Comment:it´s about gay sex or a guy who is on lsd and he´s so high that he ends up getting laid with a homossexual

"I seen some thing I thought I never saw
    Covered in hair"

"You've got a hole in you I never saw
In your parasol, in your parasol"

    parasol = ass

covered in hair refers to a guy

and the video clip confirms that

General Comment:It's about Paul's sister's vagina. The young boy has never seen anything like it and now the hairy mental image is stuck in his mind. She's not like us, she's "an alien." "She won't grow" (a dick). "You've got a hole in you I never saw"... vajay
"Monster in your parasol"- see it now?

General Comment:An AC/DC isn't a transvestite. There is now such thing as AN AC/DC. AC = Alternating Current; DC = Direct Current or is there some new physics-influenced slang I'm not aware of? :P

General Comment:It's about the deteriorating of the human condition. It's about how our society (the parasol) is too accepting and allows too many shady characters, like terrorists (the monster) in, just to be politically correct. The moral: Don't let monsters in your parasol, be racist, but do it tastefully.

General Comment:I'm not really sure if I agree with everyone. I mean, the song's great and everything but I feel there's a more direct meaning to the "Monster in your Parasol" line. I'm not really sure what it is exactly but I think Josh meant something specific by it. Not just "Oh looky there! I'm on drugs and I'm seeing monsters!" But I do not deny that there is a strange sexual implication within the song.
