    Song Meaning:I've listened to this song a lot and I think it's about a lie or a world that she created early in her life and that later in life she feels that the lie she created has become a plague and she has no control over it anymore. "I'm longing to be lost in you" and "I've woken now to find myself
    in the shadows of a lie i've created" probably means that she longs to escape it and go back to the world she once knew but can't because she's been in her lie too long and it's all she knows now. But that's just my opinion I could be wrong

    - she feels empty because she is focusing on herself too much and worrying about how everything will affect her. the shadow is a dark place she created as a result of fussing over herself.

    "i'm longing to be lost in you"
    - it's only when we forget about ourselves and focus on other people's problems that we find happiness. if you try to make other people happy, you will feel happy yourself. those that give affection receive affection.

    General Comment:I think the "I'm longing to be lost in you" could be interpreted as what's deep and meaningful. She wants to be taken away from this shallow nothing she's become. Of course, it could be god or a person for all I know. Yeah I think it's about a person who's thought of as only what they've done and not who they really are, so they have to pose for others to like them.

    General Comment:I'm longing to be lost in you... Gosh, so beautiful. But yeah, I think it's about wanting love just because you're so sick of yourself. It's a really sad concept that makes for a gorgeous song.

    General Comment:Although I know Evanescence isn't a Christian band, this song definitely seems like it's talking about God. It seems like she strayed from God and found that life alone was worse. Of course, kinda like with October, it could also be talking about a relationship.

    General Comment:To me this is a song similar in theme to Breathe no more, which to me was about discovering you'd been living in a lie - having not known themselves, or more like lying to themselves they're their ideal person.
    However this song is more positive than Breathe no more - where BNM was about not refusing to accept the truth though it's very clear, Away from me seems to be about the will to truly know yourself now, escape the lie you had created and live the rest of your life as who you really are.

    General Comment:i think its about pretending to be sumone different than you really are, and then one day you see that you don't really like the lie youve made everyone believe about you and you want to either be yourself now or have another lie to live by.
