i dont know why.....but i've always thought this song was about someone dealing with someone else's suicide or more like someone elses's want of suicide..."and if you have to leave, i wish that you would just leave"

For those of you who don*t know what this song is about...It*s about her mom & how her mom was always co-dependent, which means someone can*t go through life w/o someone to relyon/by your side. I*m not a big fan, but I like this song, Bring me to life, & Call me when your sober.

This song still sends shivers up my spine. Even though I must have heard it thousands of times... it's comforting to know when you feel really down, someone has also felt as low as you, not for the same reasons but people have been there before and got through. For anyone who hates 'goths' or 'goth poser shit'... well don't waste your time commenting on them then! Personally, this song is amazing. If you can't see the beauty in it, then suffer a mental health disorder... then see if you can relate to it. Oh, and by the way I'm not mentally retarded because my boyfriend left me after we had sex for the first time when we were 14... IT'S INHERITED AND THERES NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO FOR ME EXCEPT PUMP DRUGS INTO MY BLOODSTREAM... So go fuck yourself before you mock this song!

I love this song.
It is very sad, but i think we need sad songs sometimes to get stuff out of our systems. It is not morbid or anything like that, just a basic human need to want to cry now and again! That is what i think, anyway!

this song is so pretty. but i don't think it's a dommed relationship gone to hell. it just doesn't sound like a boy-girlfriend relationship. it's like some event happened and she wants to forget all about it in a struggle to let go of a painful memory.

This song is about the death of a loved one, and how she is trying to forget him. It talks about how he haunts her dreams and how she's trying to move on now that he's gone but is unable to because he meant so much to her.

i love this song its so beautiful..it reminds me of how i was always there for this dude through everything for him in his life willing to do anything for him, but he just cheated and broke my heart! and it seems like he just won't leave my heart or my head, he seems to have come back and won't leave! that i feel like nothing can ever erase wat he did, but i'll always love him. ..beautiful song tho, i love it

I heard bits and pieces from other people that this song is about a suicide attempt after the death of a loved one. Not sure how true that is but the facts fit with the lyrics.

I never saw this as a break-up song I'm not sure how someone gets that out of the lyrics, but anyway.

I've always interpreted it as being about someone who has died but who's spirit continues to roam the earth becuase she cannot let go of him even in death.

After I saw the video for the first time it confirmed my interpretation.

Amy-white dress, wandering around outside unnoticed by the children playing in the courtyard.

Ben-sitting sadly by the piano playing a few cords thinking about the one who is gone. When is is walking outside he looks up to the sky as if looking to heaven.

Seems she is the spirit singing about the man she left behind but can't let go of. Matches my interpretation pretty well.
