Lyrics for My Immortal as interpreted by cailin

My Immortal Lyrics
i'm so tired of being here
suppressed by all my childish fears
but if you have to leave
i wish that you would just leave
'cause your prescence still lingers here
and it won't leave me alone

these wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase

when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears
i held your hand through all of these years
but you still have...all of me

you used to captivate me
by your resonating light
now i'm bound by the life you left behind
your face, it haunts
my once pleasant dreams
your voice, it's chased away
all the sanity in me

these wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase

when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears
i held your hand through all of these years
but you still have all of me

i've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
but though you're still with me
i've been alone all along

when you cried i'd wipe away all of your tears
when you'd scream i'd fight away all of your fears
i held your hand through all of these years
but you still have...all of me
all of me
all of me
all...

That ben moody and his shenanigans. And by the way: everybodys fool I was talking about the people who cry for no reason. you have a reason to cry but other people just cry because they think the song is so beautiful.

This is probably one of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. Her voice is so beautiful, and the way she sings it with such feeling and intensity brings tears to my eyes. This song could be about a loved one passing away or a relationship ending between the opposite sex.

"I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone, but though you're still with me, I've been alone all along" Seriously, that sentence makes me want to cry right now....Amy Lee is a goddess.

Well first of all this song always makes me think of the winter dance of my grade 8 year (this year), because I was trying to dance to with it but the stupid idiots called snowball and made us switch.
Anyways, this song is amazing. I love this part
"these wounds won't seem to heal
this pain is just too real
there's just too much that time cannot erase"
that part makes me want to cry. It reminds me of an experience I...experienced. And that's all I have to say about the song

i love this song except for a part when she sings

i've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
but though you're still with me
i've been alone all along

at the very end it seems to forced but this is still a wonderful song

this song reminds me of my ex and i know how cliche that is so i wont comment anyfurther

unnecessarily depressing? This song is about a doomed relationship that has dragged on too long. She is realizing that even if she ends it now that the pain will linger on maybe forever. depressing, yes. Unnecessarily, no. very strong word, dont use in ignorance. This song is my current story...

this song is about losing a loved one. as in the video she is the ghost and cant leave because her loved one misses her so much that she cant leave him. thats why shes never on the ground in the video. "but u still have all of me" shes dead to him but she still loves him.

This song was played at my father'f funeral. He died around the time that it was first released and in the 2 weeks leading up to his death it seemed to follow me around. I cant hear this song without crying because it is so beautiful, and Amy put the feelings into words perfectly for me. I can't believe how talented this band is.

I love this song, very powerful, and it\'s so powerful that I think it has to be about much more than a breakup, more like loosing someone very very close to you, like a good friend, husbands, brother, parent etc.

For the rest I think the band is overrated though and like Nightwish a good deal better in general.

Well everybody else's meanings were good but id say you didnt listen to song well enough. You have to connect to the song. You have to think about it more. "There's just too much that time cannot erase." A girl recently broke up with me because she and her ex had gone through too much together and she was always thinking about him. "I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone." She always thought about him and they were really connected to eachother. So, I'd say that this is a breakup song. It'll make you sad but if you listen to it and listen to the lyrics, it'll make you think. Also if you watch the video you notice that she doesn't stand up much if at all. I can interpret that as her saying, "you've knocked me down and i can get up." That's just my own opinion. You may think im blazed when im writing this, but could a stoner really come up with such a logical explanation?

I think this song is about somebody that has passed and because they were so close, she is feeling consumed by the fact that she is left alone to reminise about the days gone by. She is haunted by the past, and can't move on. She also seems to feel that she was the strength in the relationship, and so did not have the support she thought she had when the person was alive- in their passing she has somehow realised that she was alone in life as she is now in 'death' as it were.

A few months ago one here someone asked what the "bandages" on her arms and legs were for. My friend (who spends most of his time searching the web) said that in the video she is supposed to be a ballerina and that is what the strips of cloth were for. I don't know if that's true, but that's what he says.
I love this song oh so much. I love her voice. She is my fav female singer of all time!!! And I like her even more because she sings more high notes than a lot of female artists seem to and I can sing really high so it's nice that there is a singer who sings in my vocal range. Like on Anywhere But Home with her little intro on Bring Me To Life, I can reaach every one of those notes. It's awesome. And I figured out those begining notes that go to the intro type thing so I play them and sing all those lovely high notes. Okay, I guess I king of got off topic from this song.
Oh, man on tv, go f yourself if you have nothing better to do than dis other people's music. Do you see me telling you what to listen to and what not to listen to? I think not.

I agree with all of you that say that this song is about the loss of a loved one. when I first heard this song, I was going through a difficult time with my ex girlfriend. I couldn't let go of her, and though I drew anger out of myself, and tried to get rid of her memories, she stayed in my head; she was in my dreams, she was in my thoughts. it brang me down, and started to destroy me. This song gave me a place to hide, a song that understood me. Though she was gone, and I still secretly looked out for her, I still loved her. It tore me apart. This song means to me, that you can do so much for a person, you can give your whole self to someone, and they can tare you apart. No matter what you do. they may never come back, and you may still love them, and all you can do is just sit back and watch, and look out for her, an invisible body guard, and hopefully some day they will see that you are there, and even though they left you, you were always there for them, and nothing can change that, and may never will. No matter what, you can help but give yourself to them even in death.

and to man on tv, are you a fuckin' cock ass sucker, ya bitch. you seriously sound gay, cause apparently you aren't attracted to attractive women. I'd bone Amy in a second. and what do you listen to, Korn? Shit ass music. I've got a question, can your dick touch your ass? then go fuck your self, and see if that takes talent, bitch!

After I hear this song I have to look around and make sure I'm not standing in a vat of cheese. These lyrics are as poorly written as a Jack Off Jill song.
