  General Comment:in my point of view this song is about a woman (first verge) and a man (second verge) who are addicted to drugs. they try to hide it but they're suffering. and the carousel is drugs (it's difficult to stop it.

  My Interpretation:The () is my interpretation
  
  She can't hide no matter how hard she tries
  (She feels a pressure to hide who she really is, ´cause she’s afraid that everyone will realize who she really is, she changed herself to please others and now she’s worried that she’s not good enough to be with them, therefore she’s fighting to not reveal her insecurities, and in the end it feels hard to be herself around them, therefore she feels like it’s hard to always deny herself and putting on a facade)
  
  Her secret disguise behind her lies
  (She feels like she has to set herself to ignore and put on the facade)
  
  And at night she cries away her pride
  (When she’s alone she feels bad inside of her)
  
  With eyes shut tight staring at her inside
  (She doesn’t like what she sees with herself, she doesn’t like her raw form, that’s why she’s hiding it from everyone, she wants to be flawless)
  
  All her friends know why she can't sleep at night
  (All her friends go through the same things like she does)
  
  All her family asking if she’s all right
  (Her family doesn’t realize how much she do to fit in with them, and it’s because she lying about herself to them also, ´cause they see her happy when she’s at home with her friends, so they don’t realize what problems that creeps up to her at night)

  (Sometimes she wants to escape from everything that has to do with her and her facade and everything that she’s fighting to become a part of, ´cause it so much pressure going on inside of her)

  (She have to realize that her secret will not last, so it’s better if she could stick up for herself)

  (There’s a constant pressure to not reveal her insecurities and herself)

  (This can have three different meanings;
  One, she wonders why she denies herself and runs from herself, and she wonders why she feels so ugly and sad when she finally is herself and she wonder why she feels like a constant pressure to not become herself, she just knows that she’s within the game, fitting in with the rest, and she just follow the stream.
  The second meaning can be; That she sees someone that is in an obvious form, which mean shows her real insecurities that this girl is so desperate to hide so she tries to deny that person by being mean, and that person who gets ignored feels sad ´cause she also wants to fit in, but hasn’t got the gut to do all the things the other one does, so she blames herself and look up to the other girl, that sacrifices her soul to do the things she does, she wants to do the same as she does, but they doesn’t want her with them ´cause she’s in an obvious state,
  The third meaning can be about a person that she notices noticing her problems, that sees through her like she’s made of glass, this person that can look through her and wonders why she run from her, ´cause she’s the only one that can help her by seeing through her, but this of course is a reminder to the girl who tries to deny herself, that she’s just faking everything, so she’s afraid of being close to the other girl, ´cause she feels that girl is smarter than her and much more aware of everything’s she’s afraid of, I believe it’s all three goes hand in hand with this song)

  (He thinks he tricked everyone to believe what he wants them to believe about him, he denies himself, ´cause it makes him feels flawless)

  (He in reality is stuck with lying about himself, he’s constantly denies his true self, and as soon as he started putting on the facade and sacrificed his soul to appear flawless in others eyes, it would be a problem to become himself again, ´cause he’s already tricked them, and he is used to doing that)
  
  An addict and he can't hold the reigns
  (He’s afraid that everyone eventually will find out how he really feels)
  
  The pain is worse cause his friends have it the same
  (He feels like its harder to leave the problems that he’s stuck with, ´cause his friends likes the fact that he denies himself and puts on a facade, the reason they like it is ´cause they do the same thing, sacrifices their soul to fit in)

  one, their true self, when they are by themselves wants them to stop putting on the façade and stop denying themselves, ´cause it makes them feel bad inside, ´cause they are in fact denying themselves and try to be the one they want to be, so it’s like they are facing their true self, ´cause as soon as they stop deny themselves and just let everything go and takes everything calmly they would in the end be happy ´cause they don’t have the same worry about what others could think about them, ´cause when they have themselves and quit denying who they are, they are saved, Therefore the line “Try to do what you believe and I'll save you” ´cause they want more than anything to become and like themselves, but they are afraid to letting it go because of others, and that they sacrificed themselves to becoming the ones that they wants to be,
  The second meaning is that the ones that they denies only ´cause they are in an obvious raw form quit thinks so highly about wanting to fit in with them and deny themselves to, ´cause they give them false verification that the things they do to sacrifices themselves is right by looking up to the things they do, it’s understandable that they do looks up to them ´cause they thinks very low about themselves and wants to forget their low self-esteem by becoming the same as they are, they response to them by look down on their self and look up to the others, if the others could understand that they got into the game and self denial ´cause they felt horrible when they were themselves, therefore they tries to escape themselves by becoming the one that they wants to be, if the others got that they wouldn’t look up to them as the same way they did before, they would probably challenge them, and if they challenge the ones that sacrifices themselves, they would be shocked and it would force them all to admit that they just are faking everything and denies themselves and that would make them becoming themselves, so its another way to save everyone from falling and lying, even though its most likely that it wouldn’t happen.
  The third meaning is; about the person that looks through them, they know that if they go to her and makes real contact with her they would eventually be stronger thanks to her, but they are afraid that she might ditch them, ´cause she already knows what secrets they have, they also knows that she would not ditch them, because they feel that she doesn’t seem to be that type of person, she doesn’t give negative energy, but they are still afraid that she might ditch them anyway, ´cause if they had her power of the mind they would use it in another way, in a bit meaner way ´cause they would handle it because of their personal views, they judge her from their views, from how they would use her gift. So some of them tries to put her down into a lower position so they don’t need to deal with their problems, some of them jokes with her without taking real contact with her ´cause they are afraid of change and at the same time open for it, some of them ignores her as much as possible because of jealousy and other issues and because they are afraid of her, they aren’t agreed of which position she can have, so nothings happens yet, but as soon as they are agreed in which way they wants her they will make real contact with her… and as soon as they are brave enough to make real contact with her.)

  When they became big they gave them away when you join LPU but they are diferent here are differences between the original and they reprint:
  * Original pressing lists the 'Produced by' credit on the back insert to Hybrid Theory (the band's name at the time); the re-release was changed to show Mike Shinoda as producer.
  * Artwork differences include a text box on the inner cover on the original containing the following quote - "After eight months, she was sure of one thing: that the baby's future would be determined by the convergence of its divided past."; the re-release does not.
  * The inner cover/liner notes for the original list the band members at the time, including bassist Kyle Christener; the re-release contains a letter from Linkin Park to their fans and has quite different artwork from the original.
  * The Re-Release of the Hybrid Theory EP's cover art is noticeably brighter than the EP's original release, and the picture in the inner cover is bluer in the re-release than the original.
