Lyrics for Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved ... as interpreted by weezerific:cutlery

Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved ... Lyrics
Last night I dreamt
That somebody loved me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm

Last night I felt
Real arms around me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm

So, tell me how long
Before the last one ?
And tell me how long
Before the right one ?

The story is old - I KNOW
But it goes on
The story is old - I KNOW
But it goes on

Oh, GOES ON
And on
Oh, goes on
And on

Nothing's better than listening to "The Pope of Mope" when you're feeling depressed/misunderstood/unloveable-- I also like "Late Night, Maudlin St. by Morrissey" and "Asleep" by the SMiths for this purpose.

if it were anybody else singing it, i'd probably hate the song...but morrissey has this depressing, morbid, reflecting tone which i love....the first time i heard it i cried....

(don't forget the songs that made u cry ...and the songs that save your life .........)
I love this song to bits .I think what makes the Smiths so great is the fect that they're so truthful ... and easy to connect with !

Trust me, you are far from the only one "your age" that likes The Smiths/Morrisey. In fact, its unbelievably trendy to like them at a young age, along with The Cure and other similar 80s music.

i thought it was unbelievably trendy to like brittney spears.....or kylie....the smiths are so not "trendy" or "cool".....maybe in the 80s but not now....i love the smiths, but people hang shit on them.

It's weird that anyone would deny that liking The Smiths or The Cure nowadays is trendy. Of course it is, not that that is why everyone likes them, it's just a truth. Nothing is wrong with liking them, but if you do, you're bound to be considered inevitably trendy.

I'm 13 and I love the Smiths. I am obsessed with the 80s also. I don't like pop music or rap or anything like that but rock and 80s music is what makes me relate.

I'm 18 and have loved the Smiths for a couple of years now. I love the 80s and I do know of 3 others my age who like them also - they're all boys though! I don't know any girl like me!! They're lyrics mean so so much - unlike many of the bands of the present (except for Idlewild - cus they're great too :)). Neways - music is such an influence to me, and without the Smiths I don't know where I'd be.

I am 35, and have loved The Smiths since 1983. You don't grow out of it! This is the best track from the most underrated album. You wouldn't believe how miserable I was when the Smiths split. This track was one of the consolations...

Anyway, back to the song. i think this has to do with the fragmentation with the relationship between morrissey and johnny marr

I don't really care if listening to 80's music is popular or whatever now. I'm 15 and I've loved the Smiths ever since my sister gave me her old albums of them when I was 10. By the way, this song is one of my favorites.

oh god... so do i have to start it this way?

im 32 and loved the smiths since i was 16 ....

k so am i 'in' now?

i agree that its 'cool' to like them... but anyway..

i just love this dirge-like feel of the song.. that speaks a lot on top of the wonderful lyrics..

i will also add that i think its just wonderful that there are people who listend to smiths as kids... like 10 years old etc... i cant imagine how that must have fucked up your life tho. hahhahaahahahah. no seriously its cute. i mean i was listening to abba and boney m and beatles and others grew up dancing in the living room and doing family concerts to the smiths. wow... im jealous.. hahaah
