Emily, sing something sweet for me
I want to feel the warmth inside your heart
Emily, sing something sweet for me
I need to hear those words out of your mouth
Emily, sing something please
I want to taste the life behind your eyes
Emily, sing something
Something
Something
Sweet
I want to feel the warmth inside your heart
Emily, sing something sweet for me
I need to hear those words out of your mouth
Emily, sing something please
I want to taste the life behind your eyes
Emily, sing something
Something
Something
Sweet

Yep. Is there anything wrong with that? Can't a girl be curious? Also, It's "emilys." Not "emily's." It's not a possessive noun.
The way he sings this song doesn't make me think he just wants to hear a pretty girl sing to him because he likes her. If that's what he was going for, then he sure doesn't know how to write a love song and Conor O'Berst knows how to write every type of song beautifully.
Can't find it anywhere.
The line about the life behind her eyes...
I think he means the life in her brain.
Like, he wants to hear what her brain has to sing.
Because it's about her singing something sweet to him.
The warmth inside her heart -
well, since it's about something sweet,
I'd imagine it'd have some feeling
and passion
from her heart.
Right?
